MPD Reports: Slew of complaints of juveniles fighting, starting fires running unsupervised in mobile home park

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Jan. 28 to Feb. 4, 2021. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the first part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

Agency Assist – Windsor Drive At residence while Behavior Health does an evaluation. All okay. 

Damage to Property – East Washington Street: Complainant stated an unknown subject may have thrown a bottle at his vehicle. No damage to vehicle. This is a littering incident no property damaged. 

Burglary in Progress – King St -Complainant stated an unknown black male subject walked into her residence and went to her bedroom. Residence was searched, no male on location. Resident was flagged as mental patient. 

Traffic Stop – East Spring Street: In reference to a 2001 Honda Accord having an expired tag. The driver, having no valid driver’s license, was arrested. Citations issued. Report made. 

Shoplifting – South Broad Street at Dollar General: Subject arrested for outstanding warrants, and obstruction. Dollar General was unsure if anything was stolen. 

Juvenile Complaint – Southside MHP. In reference to several juveniles on location fighting. No fight observed, however there was a fire in the woodline. Officers were able to put it out. 

Juvenile Complaint – Southside MHP. In reference to three juveniles running around the park unsupervised. Contact was made with Three juveniles. Juveniles turned over to parents. Parents were advised of Parental Responsibility ordinance 

Shoplifting – WalMart. Staff stated that a white male and white female attempted to steal a TV. Staff stopped them in the store. The male and female then left in vehicles before officer arrival. Report taken. 

Suicide Threats – S. Madison Ave. Subject on location threatening to kill himself. Upon speaking with officers, he stated he no longer wanted to hurt himself or anyone. His rifle was taken and logged into evidence for safe keeping, per his request. 

Suspicious vehicle – Blane St. Ref to moving an 18-wheeler trailer for movie workers, Trailer was towed by Taylor’s. 

Civil Issue – Glen Iris Drive. Complainant reported that neighbors had a tree hanging over his property. He was advised on 4/30/2020, it was a civil issue and was readvised this date. 

Juvenile Complainant – Wheel Hours Ln. Ref to a verbal dispute between neighbors and their juveniles. Officers were advised that an adult was armed with a baseball bat. Approximately 4 separate parties were involved. During investigation a baseball bat was not involved during the dispute. All parties were separated and advised of remedies. 

Vehicle accident – Barron Dr. Two vehicles, no injuries. After investigation subject was taken into custody for improper backing, and D.U.I. less safe. GEARS and Spillman report made. 

Juvenile complaint – South Broad St., Southside MHP. Complainant was just advising that the juvenile, who was involved in trying to start a fire in one of the mobile homes, was on location and he wanted us to talk with him to see what he was doing. Report made. 

Sexual Assault – West Spring St. Was determined to have taken place in Barrow County. Turned over to Barrow Sheriff’s Office. 

Suicide Threat – Windsor Dr. In reference to subject on location threatening to harm himself. Negative contact with subject. 

Dispute – South Broad St in reference to Subject being upset with his neighbor over items subjects’ wife, brought over to neighbors’ residence. Items were returned without further incident.
