MPD Reports: Slew of entering autos – wallets, gun purse taken; truck stolen and recovered

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Jan. 16 – 23, 2020. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the fourth part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Suspicious Person – HW 78., Walton Truck Stop. In reference to a subject being on location for approximately an hour. The subject advised that he did not want a ride home and that he would walk. 
  • Entering Auto – Arcadia Ct. – In reference to three vehicles entered during the night. Nothing taken.
  • Mental Subject – Holly Hill Rd: In reference to a subject having people threatening her in her mind. She was advised to take medication and go to bed.
  • Stolen Auto – Royal Ct. – in reference to a stolen 2009 Ford Ranger. Walton County Dispatch placed the truck on GCIC
  • Entering Auto – Arcadia Ct. – In reference to vehicles possibly entered. No contact at door.
  • Entering auto – Lakeview Dr – In reference to a vehicle entered during the nights. A purse was taken and gun. black Taurus, 38 revolver. Gun was put into GCIC as stolen. fingerprints were taken on vehicle
  • Entering Auto – Meadowbrook Dr. in reference to 3 vehicles were entered. The subject advised nothing was stolen out of his vehicles and does not need a report.
  • Follow up – Oak St. at Brad St. in reference to stolen Ford Ranger was located. The Ford Ranger was impounded and was taken to the Fire Station where it can be processed by Crime Scene.
  • Civil Issue – N. Broad St.: (Als Discount Tire): In reference to retrieving property for her daughter. Subject was explained the civil process.
  • Harassment – Turner St.: In reference to subject harassing over social media. The complainant was given remedies on the ongoing issues with the subject.
  • Suspicious male – Fairway Dr. in reference to a male subject in the area. The male subject left the complainant’s yard after being asked to.
  • Entering Auto – Walton Rd.- In reference to entering auto. A wallet was stolen but only had ID in it. nothing was damaged. report taken.
  • Escort – E. Spring St. (Sunshine Cleaners) In reference to a family needing a ride to a homeless shelter in Athens. One subject had a warrant for disorderly conduct out of MPD. DFACS was contacted in reference to a 3-year-old juvenile. Report made.
  • Dead body – Baker St. In reference to a dead body, found in her bed by the maintenance man, been deceased for about 3 or more days. sister was notified.
  • Suspicious Person – Stokes St. in reference to a black male subject walked through the complainant’s front yard after they asked him not to. Gone on arrival.
  • Welfare – E. Spring St. In reference to the clerk is worried about a subject in tonight’s weather. The subject asked for a EMT because his foot was hurting. Turned over to EMS.
  • Harassment – Jessica Way. In reference to being harassed on social media. The subject was given remedies.
  • Welfare Check – Gliding Ln. in reference to a prowler who comes during all hours of the night. Extra patrol requested. All ok.
  • Suspicious vehicle – Masters Dr. Caller stated two males were by his truck and looking into cars. Made contact with the males. They advised that they were lost looking for a friends’ house. We were able to confirm this with the friend they were looking for who lives on Lopez Ln.
