MPD Reports: Subject allegedly tried to enter home after asking to use phone

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period June 4 – 11, 2020. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the second part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Dispute – Breedlove Dr; Ridgeview. In reference to a patient on location refusing to take a shot. The patient received his shot with an officer present. All ok 
  • Traffic Stop – Perry St. & Launius Ave. Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle without a tag light. After identifying the driver, it was found she had an active warrant out of the Walton County Sheriff’s Office for an affray. She was also given (2) citations for OCGA. 40-8-76 Child restraints violation. She was transported to the WCSO jail without incident.
  • Dispute – Colquitt St. & Cherokee Ave. – In reference to a female and male having a altercation in the roadway. Contact was made with the complainant who advised that her and her boyfriend got into a physical altercation. Report taken.
  • Suspicious Person – Plaza Dr. Black male subject appeared to be sweaty and in trouble, woke the complainant up and asked to use his cell phone, while the complainant was retrieving his phone, the male subject attempted to make entry into the residence. Extra patrol requested.
  • Fight – Plaza Dr. Upon arrival multiple subjects were viewed fleeing the scene. Two parties were found hiding in the wood line behind the apartments. After extensive detective work, it was discovered to be a mutual fight over money and marijuana. The supplier of marijuana was not properly identified and was not on location. Both parties did not wish to press charges, but did however agree to go their separate ways. Subjects were released.
  • Request to meet – E. Spring St., Taylors. Ref. vehicle towed the previous date from Hardees. Released to owner.
  • Animal complaint – Stone Creek Bend. German Shepherd found on 78 at Youth Monroe. Turned over to Animal Control.
  • Dispute Complaint – Subject from Athens Regional called with questions regarding the dispute from Plaza Drive earlier this date.
  • Theft – W. Spring St; Home Depot. Manager reported a female stole a cooler and an unknown quantity of other items. Corporate office has a suspect and needed a report for documentation.
  • Missing Person – Baron Dr. Subject was last seen around noon yesterday. Possibly with her father in Winterville. Report taken and the missing person entered on GCIC.
  • Suspicious Person – Plaza Trce. Complainant reported an unknown person banging on her rear door about 0100 hours. Complainant advised to keep doors locked and call about any future instance when it occurs.
  • Request area check – in the area of Highland Ave. and N. Broad St. Ref to two w/m’s in all black with shoulder length hair and a thigh holster. Area searched with negative contact.
  • Suspicious vehicle – Ford St. Ref to a white Monte Carlo speeding in the area. Area searched with negative contact.
  • Welfare check – Magnolia Terr. Out of state daughters requested contact with 50-year-old mother who has an extensive medical history. Contact made, all ok.
  • Request area check – Nowell St. Ref to a water leak on side of road. Water Dept. requested and responded.
  • Welfare check – W. Spring St., Wal-Mart. Ref to a blue Honda in the parking lot with an elderly man living out of the vehicle. Spoke to the male in blue Honda and he advised everything was ok.
  • Damage to property – S. Broad St., Southside Mobile Home Park. Ref to a damaged bike.
  • Hit and Run – Mayfield Dr. Blue Chevrolet Cruz struck a vehicle and ran, Turned over to Georgia State Patrol.
  • Suspicious Person – M.L.K. JR Blvd; Zaxby’s. In reference to a female sitting in the ditch. Subject was feeding/watering the cats on location. All ok
  • Domestic Dispute – Etten Dr. In reference to subject attempting to make entry into his sister in-laws home. He damaged property on location and failed to obey officer commands and became irate and was tased as a result. He was arrested for criminal trespass and obstruction.
  • Suspicious Person – N. Broad St; Monroe Church of Christ. Report of subjects in Uhaul truck on location. Contact made with subjects returning Uhaul truck at business next to church and awaiting Lyft driver. All ok.
  • Fraud – E. Marable St; Matthews Park. Subject advising of possible rental property fraud. No credible evidence available, remedies advised. All ok.
  • Dispute – Davis St./Harris St. – In reference to complainant reported that subject got mad at her for texting her boyfriend and before subject drove off she threw a cup of alcohol at complainant and her 14-year-old daughter splashing them in the face. Report taken.
  • Firearms – Sorrells St. Report of gunfire in the area. Area checked, no signs of gunfire in the area. All ok.
  • Damage To Property – N. Broad St. Subject advised someone is spraying his house and air vents with hornet pesticide. Remedies advised.
  • Dispute – W. Spring St; Piedmont Walton. In reference to subject on location wanting to leave the location. Subject was heavily intoxicated. WCSO gave subject a ride to the Whitts Inn. All ok
