MPD Reports: Suspect in debit card theft captured on Walmart surveillance

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Sept. 19 – 26, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the third part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Alarm – Davis St.: Upon arrival, the officer noticed that the rear door was unlocked. While clearing the house Officer saw Marijuana laying on the bed. The homeowner arrived on location and gave the officer consent to search. A small amount of marijuana was located and she was given a citation. 
  • Found Property – Mlk Jr Blvd. Zaxbys. in reference to a wallet belonging to a subject. Turned into evidence.
  • Suspicious Person – S. Broad St. and Walker. in reference to two subjects in the area on bikes. Subjects located and Identified. All ok.
  • Prisoner transport – from Gwinnett County. Christopher Garner transported to Walton County Jail without incident.
  • Damage to Property – King St. Ref to damage to housing authority playground.
  • Suspicious person – S. Broad St. – MPD lobby. Civil issue between two subjects on W. Marable St. in reference to one wanting the other removed from the residence. Remedies were advised.
  • Threats – MPD. Two subjects stated another subject has been threatening to cut them with machetes on FB live. Neither saw the FB posts. Remedies were advised
  • Entering Auto – Plaza Dr. in reference to the complainant having his vehicle entered sometime during the night hours.
  • Burglary – E. Marable St. In reference to complainant reporting the front door of his residence (which is under construction) being damaged. Complainant advised that nothing was taken from the residence. Report taken.
  • Theft – MPD. Reference Southside MHP. Ref to the theft of electricity. Two further warrant attempts were made at two other addresses on the subject with negative contact.
  • Suspicious Person – South Broad St. in reference to a B/F screaming at traffic. Contact made with the subject at the MFD who was upset. The subject was given a ride back to her residence on Lacy St. and turned over to her family.
  • Dispute – Plaza Dr. in reference to a subject striking complainant in the face. Complainant declined charges. Report taken.
  • Theft – Monroe Police Department. Complainant advised her debit card was stolen on September 17. Since being stolen the card had been used multiple times at multiple locations. Officer was able to get photos of the subjects on Walmart Security cameras. Photos entered into evidence. Report made
