MPD Reports: Theft, burglary, damage to property and more entering autos

The City of Monroe reported the following incidents for the period Sept. 12 – 19, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the second part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Wanted Person – Atha Street. Kristopher Schurtz was arrested and transported to the Walton County jail on Walton County Sheriff’s Office Warrants. 
  • Suspicious Person – N. Broad St. – J&B Food Mart in reference to the store clerk wanting a subject barred from the store. He was served with a criminal trespass notice.
  • Fight – Cook St. Multiple male subjects fled on foot upon officer arrival. Officers were advised by civilians on location that the male subjects were attempting to fight with someone who lives at Cook St. The area was checked for the remainder of the night.
  • Burglary In Progress – Southside Mobile Homes. Caller stated two juvenile females were attempting to break into a blue trailer that was vacant. They did not provide the lot number. All blue trailers were checked and all appeared ok.
  • Theft – S. Madison Ave. Felker Park. Employee advised juveniles broke into the football side of the storage room and took multiple uniforms. Report taken.
  • Found Property – Edwards St. Complainant found ID and pictures on the ground across from her residence. Report taken.
  • Damage to Property – W. Spring St. – Subject stated his 2019 Mustang was damaged while parked in the parking lot.
  • Dispute – Sorrells St. Subject advised that her boyfriend put his hands on her. No evidence could be provided. She was arrested on a reckless conduct warrant.
  • Stolen Four-Wheeler – Towler St.; Complainant reported her four-wheeler stolen from her residence. Added to GCIC and report taken.
  • Meet with Officer – S. Broad St. – MPD in reference to husband wanting information on his wife arrest. He was advised that she was arrested by GSP and is at the Walton County Jail.
  • Animal Complaint – Birch St. While this officer was conducting an area check in reference to an anonymous tip about drug activity at Birch St., a small K9 was observed in the roadway blocking traffic. The K9 was found to belong to subject, the subject in question about the drug activity. A strong odor of raw marijuana was observed coming from inside the residence. Due to lack of man power and other calls being dispatched further investigation could not be conducted. Joint Ops was advised of the information.
  • Dispute – Breedlove Dr. – Ridgeview in reference to complainant on location for her 14-year-old daughter who has a mental evaluation. Complainant was refusing to leave the location without her daughter. She was advised of the process and left without any further complications. All okay.
  • Threats – Highway 138 – Great Oaks in reference to complainant reporting her sister is sending threatening messages. Report taken.
  • Entering Auto – Baker St. Complainant stated her Honda CR-V was entered sometime this morning between 0100 and 0730 hours. Her orange/brown Michael Kors wallet and tie-dye green Puma book bag were taken. She advised her doors were locked, but no forced entry could be located on the vehicle. Report taken.
  • Assault – W. Spring St. – Piedmont Walton in reference to a female in room 4. Officer made contact with subject who advised she tripped and fell at the Motel 6 in Conyers. She advised her ex-boyfriend never assaulted her.
  • Fraud – S. Madison Ave. – WCSO. Two subjects stated they were in a dispute with two other subjects over $80 that was transferred through the cash app. Report taken.
  • Dispute – S. Madison in reference to two subjects verbally disputing over money. Both subjects worked for the homeowner and did not live on location. Parties separated.
