MPD Reports: Theft from vintage stores; female arrests for DUI and public intoxication

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Feb 20 – 26, 2026. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the first part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

• Theft – Edwards St: In reference to a named subject stealing a lawn mower. He was arrested and taken to Walton County Jail.
• Vehicle Unlock – MLK Jr Blvd – Longhorns- Vehicle unlocked with no damage.
• Vehicle Unlock – Ridge Road – Vehicle unlocked with no damage.
• Trespassing – Stonecreek Bnd – In reference to the complainant advising a Ford F150 was in the area of the pond and wanted him criminally trespassed due to the individual not having residency. The vehicle was not on location and remedies were advised.
• Traffic Stop – Marable St @ Turner St – Vehicle stopped for equipment violation. Driver cited for driving with a suspended license.
• Suspicious Person – Davis Street, Pine Park Street- In reference to seeing two subjects outside, one of whom I believed to be a wanted subject. Upon speaking with the two individuals, my suspicion was dispelled.
• Suspicious persons/foot pursuit – Pilot Park – In reference to seeing three individuals on location, loitering. Upon arrival, the unknown subjects fled on foot toward Wheeler Street Officers apprehended two juvenile females. After identifying both suspects, they were released to their legal guardian.
• Suspicious Person – West Spring Street, Quality Foods- In reference to subject loitering in front of closed businesses after midnight. Subject explained that he was practicing his skateboarding in the parking lot. No signs of any damage or foul play were noticed by me. He was informed of loitering laws and sent on his way.
• Prowler – E Washington – In reference to a named female subject who was visibly intoxicated, banging and attempting to enter the complainant’s residence. Her breath emitted the odor of alcohol, her speech was slurred, and she had admitted to consuming alcohol within the previous hours and urinated on the front patio. She was then placed under arrest for public intoxication without incident and transported to the Walton County Sheriff’s Office where she was booked.
• Suspicious Vehicle – Spring St @ Broad St – Vehicle parked on the curb in Downtown. Contact was made with the driver who was heavily impaired. She was taken into custody for DUI and multiple other traffic offenses.
• Business Alarm – West Spring Street, Sake Express- Perimeter sweep of the building was conducted. All windows and doors were secured. No signs of forced entry or foul play.
• Traffic Stop/Impound – Hwy 138, West Spring Street- In reference to subject being stopped for suspended registration and no insurance. The vehicle was impounded by Taylors Wrecking Service. Subject was cited and provided a ride to the local Waffle House to wait for her ride.
• Suspicious Persons – Breedlove Dr; Secure Self Storage – In reference to a passerby reporting a suspicious male and female on the listed location, possibly attempting to break into units. Responding units cleared every open unit and surrounding area. Negative contact.
• Vehicle Unlock – Towler St- Vehicle unlocked with no damage
• Vehicle Accident – W Marable- In reference to a deer running into passenger side of the complainant’s car on her way to work around 0300 Hours in front of 912 E Marable
• 911 Hang Up – Dbl Springs Ch Rd – All ok on location. Vehicle Unlock – W Spring St – Vehicle unlocked no damage. Alarm – N Broad St. – Delivery person on location. All okay.
• Juvenile Problem – G W Carver – In reference to complainant wanting her nephew back in the house. Advised complainant that he was has not doing anything wrong by being on the porch and he was advised to go inside as soon as he was calmed down enough to do so in order to complete his online school work.
• Warrant attempt – Meadow Walk Dr- Attempt to serve warrant, Negative contact.
• Roadway Obstruction – HWY 78 W – In reference to boxes in the roadway. Contact was made with the boxes and they were removed from the roadway.
• Threats – Aycock Ave. – In reference to a female subject receiving a harassing message from a former supervisor. Report taken.
• Comments: Extra patrol request for Waffle House 78/Unisia. Request extra patrol from 0000- 0300 due to customers from Stadium Lounge and shell casings being found in the parking lot previously.
• Dispute – Davis St- In reference to residence having a verbal argument. All residents advised to not talk or say anything out of the ordinary to each other
• Vehicle Unlock – Wal Mart – Vehicle unlocked no damage.
• Theft Report – S Madison Ave- In reference to the complainant having missing items from his booth at Vintage Revival Antiques.
• Damage To Property – MLK Jr Blvd – In reference to a vehicle in the parking lot being struck while the complainant was eating. Report taken.
• Suspicious Person – East Church Street – In reference to an unknown male sitting in a lawn chair facing residence. Contact was made with 17-year-old male who advised he was sketching the house, and loves architecture.
• Suspicious Person – Mathews Park – In reference to a male on location making a female uncomfortable. He was gone upon Officer arrival.
• Vehicle Unlock – Ford St- Vehicle unlocked with no damage.
• Traffic Stop – Hwy 78 and Aycock Ave – arrested for warrants out of Bibb County following a traffic stop. Vehicle towed by Taylor’s.
• Suspicious Person – Pavilion Pkwy – In reference to subject on location. He was given a courtesy ride to the Salvation Army in Athens.
• Theft Report – S Madison Ave- In reference to a booth dealer at Vintage Revival Antique having video footage of a male subject taking Novelty Bills and putting them into his backpack
• Lost Item – S Broad St.; Trading Place – In reference to a Luger P08 left behind by an unidentified male subject. The firearm and its accessories were secured into Evidence for safekeeping.
