MPD Reports: Traffic stop nets arrest of driver and warrants on fleeing passenger for several drug distribution charges

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period June 5 – 11, 2026. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the second part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

• Vehicle Unlock – West Creek Ct – In reference to a Jeep Compass. Vehicle unlocked, no damage.
• Suspicious Vehicle – Hwy 138 at Michael Etchison Rd – Officers responded in reference to unsecured juveniles inside a Chevrolet Traverse. The area was checked, and officers were unable to locate the vehicle.
• Hit & Run – Pavilion Pkwy- Black in color pickup truck struck a red in color Nissan SUV causing minor damage. No injuries. Report in GEARS.
• Threats – Ridge Rd – In reference to the complainant receiving threats on Instagram live. Report taken.
• Suspicious Person – Pavilion Parkway; Publix – In reference to subject selling kittens out of her car. She was warned and sent on her way.
• Alarm – Hubbard St.- The key holder arrived on location and advised everything was ok.
• 911 Hang Up – Davis St – In reference to multiple text 911 calls. Contact made with a resident who advised her autistic juvenile was playing on her phone. All ok on location.
• Traffic Stop/Arrest – East Church Street at Harris Street – In reference to a subject being stopped for a traffic offense. A search of his vehicle found him to be in possession of marijuana, cocaine, digital scales, packaging material and firearm. The front seat passenger ran from the traffic stop on foot. Units were unable to find him. An additional firearm was found under the front passenger’s seat. The driver was arrested for driving on a suspended license, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of cocaine, possession of firearm during the commission of felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Warrants were obtained on the passenger for the same charges plus misdemeanor obstruction and minus driving on a suspended license.
• Stolen Vehicle – East Washington St; Synovus. Officers responded in reference to the complainant wishing to report his vehicle as stolen. During the investigation, it was determined that Synovus Bank had the vehicle towed from its property by Taylor’s Wrecker Service earlier on this date. The complainant was advised to contact Taylor’s Wrecker Service on Monday, 06/08/2026, regarding pick up of the vehicle.
• Juvenile Problem – Nowell Street – In reference to subject allegedly throwing rocks at the complainant’s window. No damage was found on the window. Officers spoke to subject who denied throwing rocks.
• Theft report – Wall St – In reference to a bicycle being allegedly stolen from the front yard of complainant’s residence. The bicycle was located at another home on Wall St. Subject stated that his son removed the bicycle from the woods behind Wall St. The bicycle was returned without issue.
• Mental Subject – East Church Street, Marable Manor – In reference to subject exposing himself and urinating in front of the public. Subject was placed under arrest and transported to the Advantage Health Clinic in Athens on a 10-13.
• Dispute Non Violent – Pine Park St – In reference to subject being in possession of another subject’s I.D. Subject was not on location. The Subject missing their ID was informed to contact law enforcement in the event that he does not return her I.D. when he returns to the residence.
• 911 Hang Up – Tanglewood Lane – In reference to a 911 only number dialing emergency ervices three times. Contact was made with the residents, who advised that everything was okay.
• EMS Assist – Bold Springs Rd; Chevron – In reference to the complainant advising he could not see and had too much to drink. EMS advised the complainant stated he was stung in the eye by a bee. Turned over to EMS.
• Assist Motorist – West Spring Street / Walmart – Vehicle unlocked with no new damage.
• Dispute Non-Violent – Pine Park St – In reference to two subjects having a verbal dispute on location. While leaving the residence, one struck a small bicycle. The bicycle was lodged under her vehicle. The bicycle was removed.
• Residential Alarm – Belle Meade Rd – Contact made with homeowners who advised all was ok.
• Private Property Crash – W Spring St; Walmart- Ford F-150 vs yellow pole. SR13 was issued to the complainant.
• Business Alarm – W Spring St; Ollie’s – In reference to the assistant manager on location standing by due to a bypass alarm. All appeared ok and the building was secure.
• Welfare Check – Tall Oaks W – In reference to female subject stating that her and her son were verbally disputing with her son stating that he wanted to hurt himself. The son advised he did not want to hurt himself. He stated that he was upset.
