The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Nov. 26 – Dec. 3, 2020. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the first part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.
Unknown Law/Dispute – MLK Jr. Blvd. Longhorns. In reference to the complainant advising she has an emergency on location. Complainant advised she is having a verbal dispute with her child’s father.
Disturbing the Peace -W Spring St. Walmart. In reference to a black male using profanity, being loud, and refusing to leave the store. Subject was escorted out of the store by Officers.
Hit and Run – W Spring St. Walton Athletic. In reference to a black Dodge Ram 3500 hit while parked in the parking lot. GEARS report.
Dispute – E Spring St. Sunshine Cleaners. In reference to a white male, wearing a green shirt. Subject had a shirt on upon officer arrival. Subject advised he is doing laundry. All ok.
Dispute – W Spring St. McDonalds. In reference to a female customer refusing to leave or move from the counter. Dispute over receipt and food that was made. Subject was gone prior to officer arrival. All was OK
Dispute – Lacy St complainant advising that they could hear a dispute. Complainant possibly heard a door being damaged and heard gunshots somewhere in the area.
Traffic Stop – N Broad St at Deer Acres Inn. Vehicle was stopped for headlight violation. After investigation the driver was issued a citation for City ordinance 62-3 Poss. of Marijuana and the passenger was taken into custody for a warrant out of Lawrenceville Pd. The passenger was transported to the Walton County Sheriff’s Office jail without incident. Report taken.
Prowler – Atha St. In reference to subjects throwing rocks at the complainant’s residence. Negative contact with anyone throwing rocks at the residence or around the residence, the area was checked.
Lost Item – Stone Creek Dr. lost medication. Subject reported her bottle of Adderall missing for four weeks. Report taken.
Loud Music – Eagles Tr In reference to loud music and a party. Homeowners were advised to keep the music volume to a minimum. All ok.
Dispute – West 5th St. Victim reports that subject burned her with a cigarette and busted her lip and left the scene in a white Ford work van.
Traffic stop – Breedlove Dr. and Kings Ridge. After BOLO for the vehicle contact was made. The subject was arrested for FV Battery, open container X2, no license on person, and a break light. Smith and Wesson pistol taken for evidence. Warrants taken on all ref above case, supplements added to original case number.
Dispute – West Spring St., Piedmont Walton. Ref to a signed mental evaluation patient saying he is being held against his will. All ok, subject medicated by medical staff.
Entering auto – Holly Hill Rd. Call canceled by comp due to finding her lost items prior to officer arrival.
Traffic Stop -Breedlove Dr. and Shops of Breedlove. Female subject arrested for Walton County warrant, No license on person, speeding, and windshield requirements.
Suspicious person – Felker St. Ref to a b/m walking the street for aprox 3 hours. Area searched with negative contact.
Assault – W Spring St. Piedmont Walton. female in the ER stating she was assaulted at the “Short Stop.”
Shots Fired – Meadow Walk Dr. In reference to several shots that were fired at the residence and struck the residence. During investigation, the complainant officers on scene that BB gun rounds were shot at his residence by two subjects driving a Toyota corolla. No damage observed at the residence. Complainant declined a police report.
Suspicious Vehicle – Hwy 78. Walton Truck Stop. blue passenger car parked on the side of the building. Complainant advised the occupants in the vehicle are possibly having adult relations. Occupants in the vehicle were advised to go on their way.
Suspicious Vehicle – Plaza Ct. Subjects advised they were talking. They were sent on their way. All ok.
Dispute – Lacy St. complainant advising that a subject threw a chair at the complainant’s mother’s vehicle. Report taken; juvenile complaint form completed.
Fight – N Broad St. Da Grand. In reference to males in the parking lot fighting and armed with weapons. Upon officer arrival, large crowd disbursed from the area. Subjects involved appeared to be gone when officers arrived. Staff on location advised all is ok.
