MPD Reports: Traffic stops lead to drug and outstanding warrant arrests

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period March 4 – 11, 2021. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the first part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction

Welfare Check -Hwy 138 / W Spring Street: In reference to light not cycling properly. White Chevrolet Tahoe K1500 was stationary for 2 light cycles. Subject was found to be in procession of approximately 4.09 ozs of marijuana. He was arrested. report made. 

Mental Patient – Harris Street. In reference to subject being on location with a signed mental evaluation order. Contact was made with the subject and she was turned over to Walton County Sheriff’s Office on scene. 

Dispute – G W Carver Cir Complainants’ boyfriend took the house keys and was refusing to give the keys back. All oaky. 

Welfare Check -South Broad coming into city limits from Social Circle. In reference to an older model Ford Ranger red in color, and it appeared the male driver was holding a female down. Traffic stop conducted at Hardee’s in Monroe. Female advised she was suffering from a headache and was resting her head in her boyfriend’s lap. All checked ok. 

Juvenile Complaint – Old Mill Point: In reference to a black male with tan pants and white shoes on the playground possible have started the fire. Situation was mediated. 

Other Law – Breedlove Drive (Ridgeview): In reference to a complainant having question to an incident that happened in Monticello. Remedies were given and explained that her that she would have to file a report in Monticello. 

Wanted Person – W Highland Ave. Subject on location. He was taken into custody without incident. 

Shoplifting – MLK Jr Bvld unknown male taking 2 pair of boots from Tractor Supply, report was taken. 

Domestic Violence – Davis St regarding subject attacking victim. He was arrested, warrants to be taken for battery (FV). 

Traffic Offense -Edwards St & N Madison Ave. Reference a white Chevrolet Malibu stopped for failing to maintain lane. Further investigation led to the arrest of the subject for active arrest warrants from State Pardons and Parole. 

Missing Person – Tanglewood Dr Complainant reporting her cousin was walking off alone. While on location, he was found by family members. All OK. 

Traffic Offense – Charlotte Rowell & Hwy 78. Traffic-stop for no tag lights. The subject was arrested for several narcotic felonies.
