MPD Reports: Traffic stops result in arrests for intent to distribute marijuana and possession of marijuana oil

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period March 8 – 13, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into six parts. This is the final part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Theft – N. Broad St. – Complainant claimed he lost his wallet inside the gas station. Video evidence shows complainant put the wallet in his pocket and leave the store. Report taken
  • Sexual Assault – New Lacy St. – Ref: to claims made about the subject while speaking to Judy Gaither.
  • Suspicious Vehicle) – in reference to a car on Hwy 11 north coming into the city. Contact made on South Madison Ave and Towler St. Warning for no turn signal. All ok.
  • Discharging Firearms – Cook Pl. –  No casings or gunman could be identified. A subject was hindering the investigation and was arrested for disorderly conduct
  • Traffic Stop – Hammond Dr. – In reference to a failure to dim headlights on a Honda Pilot. The driver eventually identified as Patrick Morton. Driver found to possess less than an ounce of Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia. He was charged with these items as well as failing to dim headlights, driving on a suspended license, giving false name and date of birth and having multiple warrants from Barrow County and Clarke County.
  • Domestic – W. Marable in re: male subject locking female subject out of their residence. Female was advised to see if she could stay somewhere else if possible. Report taken.
  • Wanted Person-S. Madison Avenue: Robert Young arrested for Walton County Sheriff’s Office Violation of Probation.
  • Armed Subject – Perry St. in reference to a male subject on a green bike pointing a gun at another male subject. Made contact with those subjects, who are Uncle and Nephew, and was informed that the subject took the BB Gun from another subject because he didn’t want him to get in trouble with it. The subject was turned over to his father.
  • Agency Assist – Highway 78 W. Vehicle stopped by trooper. MPD Officer arrested driver for felony possession of marijuana liquid.
  • Possession of marijuana w/intent – Baron Dr; Subject was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
  • Dispute – Springer: Subject arrested for disorderly conduct after arguing in the street for over 2 hours. Cited and released to the custody of WCSO jail.
