MPD Reports: TV, PS3 and laptop reported stolen in Radford Street burglary

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Feb. 20 – 27, 2020. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the fourth part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Dispute – Towler St. Subject disputing with her daughter on location. She was arrested after she took and smashed her daughters’ phone during the dispute. 
  • Agency Assist – at Walker St. and S. Broad St. in reference to Georgia State Patrol needing a female officer for a pat-down and needing back up on a vehicle search. All 10-4
  • Transport – N. Madison Ave. Transported 2 males to MPD.
  • Intoxicated Driver – at Taylor’s Wrecker Service, area check was conducted, negative contact with the vehicle upon arrival
  • Suspicious Persons – S. Broad St. – Chevron in reference to two young black males panhandling in front of the business. Subjects were gone on arrival.
  • Suspicious Persons – on S. Madison Ave. and Towler St. in reference to locating subjects panhandling from the earlier call. Contact made with two subjects who were warned to stay away from Chevron.
  • Speeding Vehicle – Landers St. Area checked for white Ford truck speeding up and down the roadway, Contact made with parked vehicle and owner who was advised to watch the speed on roadway.
  • Dispute – W. Spring St.; Piedmont Walton. The complainant stated she was being harassed by a subject who had left the location prior to officers’ arrival.
  • Other Law – W. Spring St. Taco Bell – Complainant needing an officer to go to Armstead Cir. to retrieve paperwork from a subject. The subject was not home at the time. The complainant was advised that he would have to try again another time.
  • Traffic Light Out – E. Spring St. & N. Midland Ave.- In reference to a traffic light out. The intersection was checked and one green light facing S. Broad St. was not working, but the other green light was. Radio was advised to let GDOT know.
  • Search Warrant – Tanglewood Dr. Units assisted Joint Ops
  • Burglary Report – Radford St. – Complainant reported that someone broke into her house while she and her son were at work. Complainant reported that her tv, PS3 and Laptop were stolen.
  • Damage to Property – G W Carver Complainant advised that her rear driver side tire was stabbed with a small bladed knife. The suspect is unknown. Report taken.
  • Shoplifting – W. Spring St. – Walmart in reference to a juvenile with a backpack being on location and acting suspicious in the electronic section, possibly shoplifting. Contact made with 14-year-old, running away from Walmart. Juvenile had not shoplifted items from the store and was returned to his residence at Ridge Road.
  • Agency Assist – S. Broad St. – Rinse Bath & Body in reference to smoke coming from the business and an explosion being heard. Turned over to Monroe Fire Department.
  • Dispute – Ridge Road in reference to two parties being in a verbal altercation. One was gone on arrival and the other was given a ride to G W Carver Homes.
  • Lost Item – Country Club Dr. In reference to a lost passport, Owner said it may have been stolen, just noticed it being gone last night. Report taken and case number was given.
  • Harassment – W. Spring St. – Walmart in reference to complainant receiving calls from a subject from the Barrow County Jail. Remedies were advised.
  • Damage to Property – Tall Oaks W. – Complainant reported that someone had broken the front window of her house between the hours of 1700 and 2000 hrs. Report taken.
