MPD Reports: Two separate reports of assault or ‘being jumped,’ one victim a juvenile

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Feb. 20 – 27, 2020. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the final part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a  conviction.

  • Suspicious Person – W. Spring/ George Walton. Female walking with baby and arguing with a male. The scene was turned over to Walton County due to the incident occurring on Woodchase Dr. 
  • Dispute – 6th St. Two parties involved in a verbal dispute. One agreed to leave for the night.
  • Dispute – Los 3 Amigos. An argument between customers and staff over the price of a pitcher of an alcoholic beverage. Parties were advised that it was a civil issue and they came to an agreement.
  • Harassment – Towler St. – Complainant reported she signed up for a stay at home job she saw on Facebook ad. However, she decided she did not want to do it because it cost too much to sign up, her Facebook and Instagram were hacked and being held at ransom.
  • Dispute – West Marable St.- Subject on location advised accidental dial. All ok
  • Dispute – Lakeview Dr. – Two parties were disputing over money. One stated that his son paid the other $350 for rent when one party decided she did not want them at her house anymore. She agreed to pay him the money back. The other party advised they would leave once their ride arrived.
  • Fire Assist – N. Broad St. – In reference to air conditioning unit hit by semi-truck.
  • Civil Matter – Armistead Cir. in reference to retrieving personal items. The subject has not resided in residence for approx. 4 months. Advised we cannot do escorts of this nature.
  • Fire Assist – Double Springs Church Rd in reference to USPS truck on fire.
  • Follow Up – N. Broad St. – In reference to collecting video footage of hit and run. Follow Up – N. Broad St.: In reference to filling out the vin inspection paperwork.
  • Theft – Birch St.: In reference to complainant missing some money from her pre-paid card account. She believes her mother took it. Report made.
  • Welfare check – Welling Ln. in reference to check on a 16-year-old. The juvenile said she was alright but does not want to go home after work because her dad is mad at her because she wants to live with her mother.
  • Fire Assist – W. Spring St. – In reference to wires on fire coming from a building. Fire and Public Works advised.
  • EMS Assist – Victory Dr.- Subject was pronounced dead on the scene from natural causes. Criminal Investigation Division notified. Investigator responded.
  • Damage to Property – Maple St. in reference to a window being broken on the home.
  • MPD – Subject stated he was jumped on E. Church St. by an unknown male. Was transported to ER due to complaints of injury. Report Made.
  • Assault – Piedmont Walton. in reference to (Juvenile) being assaulted by a group of males on Sorrells St. Juvenile was uncooperative and inconsistent with his story. His mother wants charges taken. Unable to positively identify suspects and further investigation is needed.
  • Suspicious Person – Baron Dr. Dispatched as a suspicious person. A resident heard banging on the rear door of the residence. Some construction materials (doors) had been blown down and fallen on the rear door.
