MPD Reports: Vehicle failing to maintain lane with driver falling asleep

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Aug. 29 – Sept. 5, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the final part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Found Property – S. Broad St. Walton County Sheriff’s Office. In reference to a subject who found a wallet at Zaxby’s. The SO was able to handle the call prior to MPD arrival. 
  • Suspicious vehicle – Pine knoll. Caller advised that a vehicle had been parked outside their house for 3 days. Upon further investigation, it was the callers’ daughters’ car.
  • Dispute – Carwood Dr. Neighbors were disputing over an angle grinder, they were advised how to handle the problem.
  • Assault – Piedmont Walton. Upon contact it was determined that the incident happened in Walton County. WCSO notified Turned over to them.
  • Dispute – Walton St; Complainant was involved in a dispute with his 17-year-old son over suicidal comments that he had made on social media. Son was transported to Piedmont Walton for a mental health evaluation.
  • Dispute – N. Broad St. Complainant wanted her grandson transported to the hospital, due to him not taking his medication. Grandson stated he just wanted to go to sleep. The complainant was advised due to his age could not make him.
  • Dispute – Roosevelt St. in reference to complainant requesting to meet with officers to advise that nothing had occurred, but his girlfriend would possibly get mad at him and a dispute may occur.
  • Return Call – Roosevelt St. Complainant requested to meet again stating he had a beer poured on him and the door to his room kicked in. No signs of any dispute. Others in the house were in bed. He advised to stop drinking and go to sleep.
  • Dispute – W. Spring St. Complainant on location upset that his AC was not working. He asked for his money back, but they advised they would not give him it back, but they would change his room. Complainant did not want to change rooms. He was advised it was a civil matter.
  • Dispute – Maple St. in reference to complainant verbally disputing with her ex-boyfriend,. Parties separated.
  • Theft in Progress – W. Spring St. – Walmart. While conducting an area check officer observed a B/M wearing a red shirt and black pants loading black plastic pallets in a gray 1994 Dodge Caravan (GA Tag #RQU2702). Officer made contact with a manager who stated the male did not have permission to take the pallets. Male subject was gone on arrival. Walmart declined a report due to not knowing what all was taken but asked for officers to keep a look out on the vehicle in case it returned.
  • Traffic stop – Charlotte Rowell and Hwy 138 Exit. Vehicle stopped for an equipment violation. Subject arrested for Failure to Appear warrant out of Rockdale County. She was arrested and released to the Walton County Jail.
  • Stalking – S. Broad St. – MPD Lobby in reference to complainant reporting her husband pointed a firearm at her on 09/01/2019. The complainant stated there is a video camera in the home but advised the incident was not caught on video. She advised he made a threat to her over the phone earlier this date. She was advised of remedies. Report taken.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – Hwy 78 and W. Spring St. in reference to a dark-colored Tahoe failing to maintain lane and the driver falling asleep at the wheel. GSP stopped the vehicle on W. Spring St. at Breedlove Drive. Turned over to GSP.
  • Lost Item -Tanglewood Dr. Reference to subject losing his wallet in Athens last date. Subject was advised to contact Athens Clarke County PD to see if it was turned in and make a report.
  • Meet with – S. Broad St., MPD. in reference to complainant receiving harassing threats by his uncle and them being in a physical altercation earlier this year in the county.
  • Dispute – W. Spring St. – Piedmont Walton. Subject on location not cooperating with medical staff. The doctor advised a medical evaluation was signed and he had to be escorted to his room. I was advised that he assaulted his grandmother W. Marable St. earlier this date. Report taken. No charges filed due to a medical evaluation already signed by a doctor.
  • Dispute – E. Tall Oaks. Civil matter in reference to missing keys to a vehicle. The dispute was between two subjects. Remedies advised.
