MPD Reports: Vehicle struck during vehicle pursuit, and DUI charges after driver found passed out behind the wheel

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Feb. 18 – 25, 2021. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the final part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

Suspicious Vehicle – HW 138 at Chick Fil A. Ref to a green F250 on location about two weeks. Remedies advised. 

Dispute – Cook St. Officers stood by while a female subject was served a Temporary Protection Order by Walton County Sheriff’s Office. 

Suspicious person – Pine Park St. Ref to a b/m on foot asking for money. Contact made with subject who matched the clothing description and denied asking for any money. Subject sent home. 

Dispute – Meadowalk Dr. Verbal Dispute between two parties over items going missing in the residence. One subject does not live on location and was given a ride to Highway 78 truck stop. 

Juvenile Complaint – Oak Street/North Broad in reference to multiple juveniles walking close to the road. Juveniles were advised to stay out of the roadway. All ok. 

Violation of TPO – East Washington Street. – Officer met with the complainant who asked for a report be made due to her child’s father contacting her via text message. Officer spoke to all parties involved and remedies given. Report made. 

Disturbing The Peace – West Marable Street – In reference to a neighbor banging on walls. Ongoing issue. Officer made contact with subject who advised all ok. 

Dispute – East Marable Street – In reference to subject being on location after bonding out of jail. It was determined that subject was not supposed to be on location. She willingly left the location and was advised not to return. Report made. 

Traffic light out – Charlotte Rowell at Hwy 78 Exit: Traffic Signal not functional, flashing red only. DOT notified. 

Juvenile Complaint – E Wheel House Ln In reference to a Juvenile refusing to go to school. Complainant was advised of the Juvenile complaint proceedings. 

Vehicle Accident – East Marable & North Broad area: In reference to WCSO vehicle pursuit that went through Monroe city limits. WCSO advised the suspect vehicle may have struck a white passenger car on East Marable. Officer patrolled the area with negative contact with any vehicle struck. 

Suspicious vehicle – Martin Luher King Jr BLVD in reference to a driver of a Ford Ecsape was passed out behind the wheel and could not drive in the parking lot. The male subject was placed under arrest for DUI and was transported to Piedmont Walton Hospital where he was released on a citation. 

Dispute – South Broad Street (MPD); In reference to complainant needing Law Enforcement to go to his residence located at Lakeview Dr. Complainant wanted his son to leave and be issued a Criminal Trespass Notice. Report Made. 

Suspicious Person -New Beginnings Church -Complainant advised an unknown person was sitting on the steps. Contact made with subject. He was advised not to loiter at the church during nighttime hours. 

Suicide Attempt – New Lacy St Subject having a mental health crisis and self-harming. Turned over to EMS

Dispute – Towler St -In reference to a juvenile being unruly. Situation mediated. 

Traffic Offense – Charlotte Rowell & N Broad -In reference to a Gray Ford Focus stopped for failing to maintain its lane. Further investigation led to the arrest of the passenger being arrested for Possession of Schedule II Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Related Objects. 

Suspicious Person – City Hall -While on an area check Officers observed subject crying at the City Hall fountain. Subject stated she was upset about a dream and not being able to find a job. She was given a courtesy ride back to her residence on West Marable.
