MPD Reports: Victim arrested for DUI, theft by receiving and on a warrant after walking away from crash

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Feb. 11 – 18, 2021. Due to the length, this report was split into five parts. This is the final part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

Drug Related – East Washington Street: Anonymous complainant advised a strong smell of possible marijuana coming from apartment. Made contact with subject at apartment and advised there were subject on location earlier this date smoking marijuana. No smell of it currently. Report taken for Government Housing purposes. 

Missing Person – Tall Oaks Ln reference to complainant not being able to get in touch with her father. Father was put on GCIC as a missing person. Report taken. 

Theft -Monroe Motor Inn. Walter Clark stated a white female stole his Social Security card and credit card. Contact was made with a female matching his description. She was arrested for theft by taking, disorderly conduct, false name and DOB, and obstruction. 

Harassment – Launiuos Ave. Complainant reports harassment from a subject. Complainant was advised remedies and advised to call back if she has anymore issues. 

Request to meet – Glen Iris Dr. Requested an extra patrol around 02:00 hours ref to someone knocking on doors, info passed on to night shift, all ok. 

Harassment – Wheel Hours Ln. Complainant reports harassing calls and texts from a subject. 

Dispute -Douglas St. Dispute between two parties over a heater. Parties were separated. 

Hit and run – North Broad St., JB Food Mart. a hit and run that was investigated and after video footage was watched it was a property damage report. Complainant does not know when or where it happened. 

EMS assist – East Washington St. 73-year-old female found deceased by housing authority. Dog taken by animal control, corner and CID responded. 

Dispute – East Church St. and Barron Dr. Verbal argument between two parties. Parties mediated and separated. 

Assault – James Huff Road. Incident occurred at Shamrock Dr. Subject struck his sister in the face multiple times during a dispute. Report taken. 

Harassment – Amistead Cir. Complainant advised he has been receiving phone calls and text messages from an employee he recently fired. Report taken. 

Mental Subject – Highland Creek Drive. Subject was having a mental episode. He was transported to Athens Regional by Walton County Sheriff’s Office. 

Theft Report – South Broad St someone removing rims/tires parked on location. Vehicle owner, arrived on location and advised that he had the tires, and everything was ok. Nothing further. 

Dispute – South Broad Street a customer unable to get her change. Situation mediated. Change given. 

Stolen Vehicle – Sorrells Street. Met with the caller, who advised that he thought his car might have been stolen. He also advised he was behind on payments, and that it might have been repossessed. 

Rape – Breedlove Drive – Ridgeview to patient requesting to go to Piedmont-Walton for a rape kit because of pain in her genital area. Subject doesn’t have recollection of the last 24 hours and arrived to Ridgeview from Piedmont-Walton after being checked out for a UTI. Subject was transported by EMS, CID was also notified and responded. Report made. 

Mental Subject – Breedlove Drive. Subject was at Ridgeview on a signed mental evaluation. He was being combative to staff and damaging property. He was arrested for simple assault on a law enforcement officer. 

MVA – Towler St. Single vehicle accident. Complainant advised that the driver walked into the woods then back to the vehicle. Officer located subject walking on Towler Street. Subject was identified. He was intoxicated. During a search of the wooded area a .380 handgun was located. The gun was in GCIC as stolen out of Atlanta. The subject was transported by EMS to Piedmont Walton. Officers stood by due to the being in custody for DUI, Theft by Receiving and a warrant out of Walton County.
