MPD Reports: Victim shows up at Piedmont Walton with a gunshot wound to his back

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Feb. 20 – 27, 2020. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the first part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Harassing Calls – Bold Springs Ave. – Complainant reported that she received a message via Facebook from a subject stating what he would sexually do to her daughter if he got a hold of her. The complainant doesn’t know the subject. Report taken. 
  • Follow Up – E. Spring St; Short Stop. In reference to making contact with the subject in regards to previous day’s shoplifting. The subject was not on location but was able to contact her through telephone.
  • Follow Up – Bryant Rd. In reference to attempting to make contact with the subject. The subject was on location and was able to verify her 17-year-old juvenile son who stole items from the Short Stop on the previous day.
  • Follow Up – S. Broad St. In reference to the subject bringing her 17-year-old juvenile son to meet with an officer. Juvenile was served with a Criminal Trespass notice for 2 years from the Short Stop.
  • Juvenile Complaint – E. Washington St. In reference to complainant wanted to report a male subject sending her 11-year-old juvenile inappropriate Instagram messages earlier this date. Report Made
  • Suspicious Person – E. Marable St. Contact made with a person walking around the business who was told to leave and did.
  • Dispute – Ridge Road; Two parties in a verbal dispute. Male party gone on arrival. Female party advised of other remedies.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – Hwy 78 and Jim Daws. Officers told to be on the lookout for a vehicle all over the roadway, the vehicle was stopped by Walton County Sheriff’s Office prior to entering city limits.
  • Dispute – S. Broad St; In reference to the complainant and a subject who got into a domestic dispute. The subject was gone on arrival. After investigation, it was determined that the subject had used an open hand and slapped the complainant across the right side of her face. Warrants Taken
  • Gunshot Wound – W. Spring St; Piedmont Walton. A victim appeared at Walton Piedmont with a gunshot wound to his back. Criminal Investigation Division responded.
  • Area check – Classic Trl. In reference to the gunshot wound at W. Spring St, Officers conducted a foot patrol on Classic Trl and located 4 shell casings, 1 Live round, and a key chain with a bunch of miscellaneous keys. Criminal Investigation Division responded.
  • Animal Complaint – N. Broad St. in reference to two dogs walking around. The dogs were located and could not be caught. Animal Control was notified.
