The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period March 14 – 20, 2025. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the third part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.
- Traffic Stop / Arrest – East Church St. – Traffic Stop was initiated on the vehicle for going too fast for conditions and failure to stop at stop sign and failure to maintain lane. The driver was arrested for DUI less-safe alcohol/drugs. He was transported to the Monroe Police Department, fingerprinted on charges, and then transported to the Walton County Jail without further incident on the charges of DUI less safe alcohol/ drug, failure to maintain lane, failure to stop at a stop sign, and driving too fast for conditions.
- Suspicious Vehicle – Edwards St. Vehicle parked blacked out and occupied. A female waiting to give the male resident a ride to work. All ok.
- Suspicious Vehicle – East Marable St @ Matthews Park; In reference to a black female asleep in an SUV. Subject stated she fell asleep while waiting to set up for a baby shower. All okay.
- Vehicle Accident – South Broad St @ Pinnacle Bank; Two vehicle accident with no injuries. One driver was placed under arrest for driving without a license and received other citations as well. Finger printed and released on a copy of the citations.
- Alarm – Stonecreek Way; In reference to interior motion activation. All secure on location, negative contact with anyone on location.
- Firearms – Pine Park Street- Call in reference to the complainant hearing gunshots in the area of Pine Park St. Area checked, sound determined to likely be coming from Walton County Sheriff’s Office gun range.
- Juvenile Complainant – E Washington – Reference to the complainants 9-year-old having an outburst at home. Remedies advised, situation mediated.
- Crash Detection – Carwood Dr – Female on location fell causing her apple watch to alert. All ok on scene.
- Funeral Escort – Hwy 78 West @ Unisia Dr; In reference to assisting WCSO with a funeral escort.
- Extra Patrol – West Spring St @ Piedmont Walton; Area checked based on threats in Newton County against Piedmont Hospital.
- Juvenile Problem – South Madison Ave @ East 5th St; In reference to an unattended juvenile in the roadway. Area checked, negative contact.
- Suspicious Person/Arrest – Lacy St; Male subject taken into custody on warrant out of WCSO. He was transported to the jail without incident.
- Suspicious Vehicle – North Broad St @ Bojangles; In reference to an elderly male taking pictures of teens on the side of the roadway. Subjects did not have a permit and left the location.
- 911 Hang up – Ridge Rd- Area was checked, no contact at the provided residence. Contact was made with other residents in the area who advised they did not call and that all was okay.
- Mental Patient – Douglas St; In reference to subject having a mental episode possibly stimulated by alcohol consumption as he was extremely intoxicated. Subject was transported to Piedmont Walton by Monroe PD units to receive medical aid that he needed as well as a 1013 evaluation due to his mental state.
- Alarm – Pinecrest Dr – In reference to a front door alarm. Contact made with homeowner who advised no alarm exists at this location.
- Shoplifting – S Broad; Wilfully Guided- Reference to two males stealing belts from the store. Report taken.
- Traffic Stop/Arrest – South Broad St @ Marathon; In reference to a traffic stop and wanted person located. Subject was taken into custody for outstanding warrants.
- Suspicious Vehicle – South Madison Ave- Reference to a motorcycle speeding on South Madison Ave. Negative Contact.
- Dispute – West Spring St; Pizza Hut- Contact made with staff on location who advised a named male subject was previously on scene acting erratic and verbally disputing with a door dasher before leaving in a rush. Staff members advised the dispute was strictly verbal. All appeared okay upon units’ departure.
- Suspicious Person – McDaniel St; Reference to an older man approaching the complainant’s residence and requesting to speak with her. Male GOA upon arrival.
- Damage to property – GW Carver – In reference to a male subject reporting his door to be dented by his suspected ex-girlfriend the night prior. Report taken.
- Suspicious Vehicle – Stonecreek Bend – In reference to vehicles blocking the roadway. One vehicle was observed partially in the roadway and moved upon request.
- Disturbing the Peace – Stone Creek Dr & Stone Creek Ln – In reference to the complainant advising of a strange noise in the area. A table saw was being used near the area.
- 911 Hang Up – S Broad Street- Caller advised dispatch that it was an accidental dial. Foot patrol was conducted in the area, everything appeared okay.
- Suspicious Vehicle – Bridgeport Ln – In reference to the complainant advising a trailer was partially blocking her driveway. The owner of the trailer was located and removed the trailer.
- Warrant Attempt – Elm Drive- In reference to locating a wanted subject. The subject no longer lives at the residence.
- Threats Report – Tanglewood Lane – In reference to complainant reporting threats on Facebook. Report taken. Extra patrols in the area are to be conducted throughout the night.
- Mental Patient – Stonecreek Bend- In reference to the complainant attempting to gain entry inside of his mother’s residence due to her having a mental breakdown. Entry was made and subject was transported to Piedmont Walton.
