The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Sept. 27 – Oct. 3, 2024. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the fourth part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.
- Alarm – Community Court. Area checked, all secure.
- Tree Down – N Broad St; Story Shop. Large tree limbs blocking the northbound traffic lane. Tree
limbs were removed from the lane of travel and Monroe public works was notified. - Damage to Property) 404 Springdale Rd: In reference to a tree down on a residence. Power lines
were observed in the yard. The residence was unoccupied. Monroe Utilities responded. - Business Alarm – West Spring Street @ Citi Trends- In reference to an alarm activation. All
windows and doors were found to be secured, no signs of entry or foul play. - Alarm -Community Ct; Boys and Girls Club- Alarm activation due to loss of power, all okay.
- Vehicle Accident – Hwy 78 Cherry Hill Rd; In reference to a two vehicle accident with no
reported injuries. Report taken. - Traffic Light Out – W. Spring St @ Wayne St. – Traffic light out due to weather, utilities
advised. - Business Alarm – West Spring Street @ City Gear- In reference to a business alarm. Contact
made with employee, everything okay. - Welfare Check – Armisted Circle – Reference welfare check on a named who the
complainant has not heard from in 3 weeks. Contact was made with his son who stated
he is in Rehab and is doing fine. - Business Alarm – W Spring St – All doors and windows appeared secure. Possibly weather
related. - Tree Down – West Spring St/West Highland Ave -Tree removed from the roadway.
- Business Alarm – West Spring Street @ Monroe Library- Motion alarm activation, manager
arrived on scene, building cleared, all okay. - Dispute – Tanglewood Dr – Reference caller identified as Complainant stating all is ok on
location and police assistance is not needed. No visible injuries observed on caller, all ok on
location. - Loud Music -Knight St; – In reference to loud music coming from behind Knight Street. Music
was turned down upon arrival. - Traffic stop/Arrest – East Spring st @ Dollar General – Traffic stop conducted due to a defective
third brake light. The driver, was found to have no valid license after a GCIC inquiry and was placed under arrest. She was finger printed at MPD and released on a copy of the citation.
Theft – Nowell St- In reference to a male subject selling a vehicle that did not belong to him to
the complainant. Report taken, warrants pending for male subject - Vehicle Unlock – Harvest Ln – Vehicle Unlocked. No Damage.
- Vehicle Unlock – S Broad St;- Vehicle unlocked. No damage.
- Firearms – N. Madison Ave- Reports of multiple shots fired in the area, area was checked with
no further shots heard or contact from a suspect.
Mental health patient – Tanglewood Ln- In reference to subject wanting to go to the mobile crisis unit in Athens. Subject decided to be transported to Piedmont Walton by EMS. All okay. - Area Check -Davis St; In reference to an unlicensed driver driving a truck in the area of Davis
St. - Dispute – Etten Ct- In reference subjects disputing and throwing food at each other. Report taken,
remedies advised. - Suspicious Person – East Marable St @ Matthews Park; In reference to a male parked near the
water fishing. All okay on location. - Other Law- E. Spring St;- Complainant reporting that a piece of ceiling hit her while inside, she
advised her and the store were handling it civilly. - Alarm – Pavilion Pkwy – In reference to staff on location unloading inventory. All OK on
location. - Suspicious Vehicle – Pavilion Pkwy – In reference to suspicious vehicles at Whataburger, owners
were in their vehicles due to the plant fire in Conyers. - Traffic Stop – E Marable St. & Birch St. – Vehicle stopped for failure to maintain lane. Driver was arrested for No License and released on a copy of the citation.
- Juvenile Complaint – In reference to a dispute between mother and daughter over a laundry basket. Daughter left with her grandmother.
- Dispute – Blaine Street – In reference to a dispute that occurred on Maple Street. Complainant stated his girlfriend struck him in the face and damaged his vehicle but he did not wish to press charges. A report was made.
- Accident – Lacy St; – In reference to a single vehicle accident with a deer that occurred in
Morgan County last date. Complainant was advised of remedies. - Theft Report – Blaine St. – In reference to Complainant leaving his wallet at the paint counter at The Home Depot at approximately 1230 Hours 09/29/2024. Report taken.
- Disabled Vehicle – E. Spring St. @ Midland Ave – In reference to a vehicle with a dead battery.
Dispatch advised the vehicle was in the county. - Theft Report – S Broad St. – In reference to Complainant reporting that multiple items were
stolen from her residence over the weekend. A Smith & Wesson Revolver was added to GCIC as
stolen. Report taken. - Welfare Check – Breedlove Dr.; Ridgeview Institute – In reference to the welfare check of
subject, I confirmed that he is on location at Ridgeview Institute and advised Walton County
Dispatch. - Battery – Cook St.- In reference to battery, Male subject pushed female in his kitchen causing her
to fall back and hit her head resulting in a laceration to the back to the head. The subject was
arrested and taken to the Walton County Jail and turned over to jail staff. - Damage to Property – MLK Jr. Blvd. – In reference to Complainant wishing to report damage
that occurred to her vehicle in the parking lot of Carmichael Pharmacy on 09/16 at
approximately 1030-1100 hours. Report taken. - Suspicious Person – Springdale Road – In reference to two males coming into the complainant’s
driveway on motorized scooters possibly taking pictures. Area checked in an attempt to locate
individuals. Negative contact. - 10-65 – Hwy 138 / W Spring St. – In reference to a Chevy Malibu broken down in the turn lane.
Vehicle was given a jump and was able to be driven away. - Vehicle Lockout – 620 Unisia Drive – Vehicle unlocked. No damage.
- Suspicious Vehicle – East Fambrough/South Broad Street – In reference to a blue semi-truck in
the parking lot obscuring the view of vehicles entering S. Broad St. Negative contact. - Suspicious Person – N Broad St. – In reference to a named subject intoxicated and loitering in
front of J&B Food Mart. He was criminally trespassed from the property for one year and
was driven home by his sister. - Crash Detection – Mayfield Drive – In reference to dispatch getting a crash notification. It was
determined that a phone was left on top of a vehicle and fell off the car. Phone was located and
turned over to the owner. All ok. - Extra Patrol – Douglas St/Mathis St – In reference to a subject putting corn in the open lot.
Complainant concerned they are trying to shoot deer. - Warrant Attempt – Spring Ln; Apt A – Male subject located for outstanding warrant for Cruelty
to Children 1st Degree. He was arrested and transported to Walton County Sheriff’s Office without incident. - Dispute- Nowell St. – In reference to a dispute between a male and a subject. Due
to the male admitting to having struck subject and subject having visible injuries consistent
with the stories given by both parties, The male was placed under arrest for Battery – FV and
transported to the Walton County Jail without incident. - Dispute – Tanglewood Drive – In reference to an altercation between a named female subject and her juvenile sister. Both parties charged with disorderly conduct.
- Juvenile Complaint – Pine Park St. – In reference to a juvenile complaint, Subject wants a report
that she told her daughter to come home. Report taken. - Medical/Mental Health Transport – N. Broad St. Voluntary transport for male to Piedmont Walton ER for Behavioral Health Link.
- Welfare Check – Heritage Ridge Dr. – In reference to an anonymous complainant concerned for
Subject’s welfare, stating there may be drugs in the residence. I spoke with subject on location
who advised she was okay and that there were no drugs in the residence. - Civil Dispute – S Broad St- In reference to the complainant stating a tree removal company over
charged them. Remedies advised.
