The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Dec. 3 – 10, 2020. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the fourth part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.
Entering Auto – Wheel House Ln In reference to a firearm that was stolen from the vehicle this date between the hours of 18:00 and 23:30. Complainant is going to contact subject next date and try to obtain the serial number for the firearm. The complainant was instructed to email the serial number to officer next date. Report taken.
Hit and Run – Glen Iris Dr. red Chevrolet Avalanche striking a Chevrolet S10. Witness followed the Avalanche to Tall Oaks. The vehicle was located at Tall Oaks West and the identity of the driver established. He was taken into custody for leaving the scene of an accident and DUI. He was then fingerprinted and released on copy of citations.
Vehicle Collision – South Broad vehicle making contact with another. Driver was arrested for driving while licenses are suspended. Complaint of injuries. Citations issued. Report Made.
Dispute – East Church – Subject was arguing with an employee and customers. Subject left the location for the day.
Assault/Elder abuse – Plaza Dr. patient who comes in wearing soiled clothing. Report taken.
Theft – South Broad Street: stolen or lost temporary tag. Report taken for documentation.
Juvenile Complaint – West Fambrough Street: three juvenile black males trespassing in the caller’s yard. Given verbal warning to stay off property.
Agency Assist – Stokes Street Animal Control Officer wanted to know if anyone made a report of a dog bite on today’s date.
Dispute – South Broad Street dispute between subject and a repossession employee. All okay.
Damage to Property -East Church at Hammock park. In reference to two vehicles that were involved in a minor collision earlier this date. Report taken.
Juvenile Complaint – S Broad St Subject calling another neighborhood juvenile names. Spoke to Subject and his mother. Juvenile complaint completed.
Other Law – Double Spring Church Road (MAHS) in reference to a subject bringing Drug related Objects and Marijuana to School. Cited and released.
Dispute – Tall Oaks E. In reference to a named subject kicking in subject’s front door. Burglary warrant taken.
Traffic Offense – S Madison & Felker Park. Reference to a blue Kia passenger car stopped for non- functioning brake light. Further investigation led to the arrest of a subject for Possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug related objects.
Dispute – W Spring dispute in the ER. Patient was being discharged and hospital staff stated that everything was ok.
Shots Fired – Custom Way – subject with a single gunshot wound to the leg.
0844 Hours (Unruly Juvenile) 220 East Spring Street in reference to a a female juvenile refusing to go to school. She got out of her mother’s vehicle and was walking on E Washington St. Negative Contact with the juvenile.
Dispute – Gatewood Dr: Subject getting in to an argument with her granddaughter over moving paint items. Situation mediated and remedies given to both parties.
Agency assist – East Marable at North Broad Street in reference to the Walton County Sheriff’s Office on scene with a domestic. One subject was given a reckless driving citation and another was placed under arrest for a Newton County Warrant.
Shoplifting – West Spring Street at Rose’s: In reference to an employee on location stealing.
Agency Assist – Etten Drive: In reference to assisting DFACS with depriving a 2-year-old juvenile from their grandmother.
Theft – South Broad Street; MPD stolen wallet, report taken.
Damage to Property – Heritage Ridge Ct in reference to someone throwing potatoes at window. Window was broken, report taken.
EMS Assist – Radford Street In reference to elderly female fallen. Turned over to EMS on scene
Damage to Property – West Creek Circle In reference to a Gold Chrysler Pacifica allegedly damaged at Chesnut cupboard. No video evidence to corroborate claim. Report taken
Dispute – Rose Ison Terrace In reference to unruly juvenile. Juvenile was gone when officers arrived. She located while officers were searching the area and was returned home.
Suspicious Person – West Spring Street; Murphy USA in reference to female on location opening and eating items without paying for them and attempting to sell narcotics to staff. Warrants taken.
