MPD Reports: Driver arrested after large quantity of marijuana found on Walmart DC delivery truck

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Sept. 19 – 26, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the first part. Please note and arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Dispute – Sorrells St. in reference to a physical dispute between a male and a  female. The male was arrested for Family Violence Battery. 
  • Found Property – W. Marable in reference to a black duffle bag with medical documents located in the walking path between W. Marable St. and Nowell St.
  • Drug Activity – Unisia Dr. – Walmart DC in reference to a large quantity of marijuana located on one of the delivery trucks. Subject was arrested for felony possession.
  • Agency Assist – Perry St. in reference to making contact with a female subject about picking up her juvenile from Monroe Elementary School. The message was delivered.
  • Entering Auto – MPD in reference to complainant having items taken out of her vehicle earlier this week. Complainants’ items were located earlier this date on W. Marable St. and returned to her.
  • Entering Auto – MPD. Handled by officer.
  • Civil Issue – E. Spring St. – Tire Depot. Dispute between a customer and the business in regards to damage to his rim. Report taken.
  • Fraud – W. Spring St. – Check into Cash in reference to a subject depositing a bad check. Report taken and Warrants To be Taken for Theft by Deception.
  • Juvenile Complaint – W. Spring St. – Walmart in reference to a 13-year-old juvenile caught shoplifting by his mother and wanting an officer to speak to her child. All okay.
  • Wanted Person – Alcovy Street in reference to a female subject on location with a probation warrant. She was arrested and transported to the Walton County Jail.
  • Scam – W. Spring St. – Home Depot in reference to complainant receiving calls from someone trying to scam her for gift cards.
  • Dispute – W. Spring St. – Murphy USA in reference to a male on location being irate. The male subject was gone on arrival. The store clerk attempted to obtain the correct tag # from the store camera footage with negative results. She was advised to contact 911 when the subject returns.
  • Damage to Property – Knight St. in reference a rock thrown through a window. The complainant stated a young tall light-skinned black male threw a rock at her back window. She could not advise of the male’s name or address. Report taken.
  • Damage to Property – Lacy St. – Complainant reported coming home to find the drivers’ side window of his vehicle broken. Spoke to a subject on location, who did not know who broke the window.
