News and updates from the Monroe Walton Center for the Arts

September is our fiber-full month – and kicking it off Saturday from 10 am – 2 pm we have a Community Tree Wrapping/Yarn Bombing and Story Time from The Story Shop!

Bring the kids tor story telling with The Story Shop and help us wrap trees here at the Art Center! FREE event!

Often referred to as yarn bombing, graffiti knitting or even grandma graffiti :-), we will join together and wrap some of the trees around MWCA while story tellers from the Story Shop share stories and also have books available for purchase – so fun!!

Story telling at these times: 10:30, 11:30, 12:30 and 1:30.

Lemonade stand and mini cupcakes from The Posh Cakery, too! (While they last!)

Yarn bombing adds a bit of color and whimsy to our downtown and will serve to remind our neighbors that our FIRST ANNUAL Fiber Show is here September 6 – 27!

peace,
Hope Reese
director, MWCA
