“We had one complaint of injury by a passenger in the Toyota, but nobody was transported to a hospital,” said Georgia State Patrol Trooper First Class Cal Barton. “The driver of the tractor/trailer was Trayialia Prince, 42, from Athens. She was taking her CDL license and she was not at fault.”

Barton said that the driver of the Toyota, Monica Chapman, 27, of Monroe was traveling south on Lee Peters road and attempted to turn left onto Highway 78 to travel east towards Monroe. She failed to yield and traveled into the west bound lane of Highway 78 where her vehicle was hit in the left side by the tractor trailer, which was headed westbound on Highway 78 towards Loganville.

Barton said that Chapman had three passengers in her vehicle. There was only one passenger in the tractor trailer – the employee of the Georgia Department of Drivers Services who was conducting a CDL driving test for Prince.
