Due to his high-grade point average, Norman Garrett, of Monroe, was placed on the Dean’s List at Nicholls State University for achieving a grade-point average between 3.2 – 3.49 during the Spring 2020 semester. This honor is reserved for high achieving students who strive for excellence in their academic studies.
In his letter notifying him of his placement on the Dean’s List, the following statement was issued by the Sue Westbrook, DNS Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Nicholls State University, “As an outstanding student, I would like to encourage you to participate in one or more high impact educational practices such as internships, service-learning, undergraduate research, study abroad, and academic competitions. Research shows that student learning increases when students participate in such activities. I encourage you to talk to your advisor or any faculty member about these opportunities. You did a great job this semester. Your commitment to excellence is admirable. We are proud of you.”
