Darrell Lynn Miller, age 62, was born September 3, 1957, in Kentucky to parents, Lee and Marie Miller, and passed away on February 21, 2020, from multiple heart attacks. He was the husband of Mary Kathrine Miller with whom he shared 27 years.
He first worked as a coal miner in West Virginia and later as a truck driver. His work with Anixter brought him to Georgia where he met his wife Kathy. Darrell worked at Anixter until he retired in 2002.
Darrell loved to hunt and fish. He would go whenever he could with his wife, brothers, brothers-in-law, grandsons, and nephews. His daughters would sometimes go, but as one of his daughters, I can tell you he didn’t like taking me because I wouldn’t stop talking and scaring all the fish or deer away. I thought it was funny…him not so much.
Nature was his church. He felt the Lord’s spirit in the woods or on the lake in a way that couldn’t be felt in a church. Daddy would always say it was just him and God out there in the woods.
Darrell loved his family greatly and fought to be with us as long as he could. He was our rock, heart, and humor. Darrell is survived by: Wife Kathy Miller, children: Andrea and Bobby Payne, Kristie and Michael Atkinson, Andrew and Brandy Miller, Kimberly and Brent Ball, Daniel and Beth Miller, 15 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Siblings: Howard and Jean Miller, Shirley Miller, Pat Woods, Phyllis Demming and Becky Miller. He was preceded in death by his parents Lee and Marie Miller and sisters Joanne Lester and Louise Shrewsbury.
Respects can be paid to the family Saturday, February 29, 2020, at 12:30 at the American Legion in Loganville off Highway 78 for his Celebration of Life.
