Carl Mc Rae Sr, 85, of Monroe, Georgia passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at his residence.
He was born in Elizabeth, Indiana to Edgar and Hattie Mc Rae. Mac was a heartfelt man.
Mac was very loving and proud of his 10 children; Maynard Carl Mc Rae Jr. of Knoxville, Tn., Mary Ellen Pettis and her husband Hercules of Panama City, Fl., Dorothy Sanning and her husband Alan of Jefferson City, Mo., Patricia Smith and her husband Nicholas of Mechanicsville, Md., Gregory Mc Rae and his wife Denise of Hebron, Ct., David Mc Rae and his wife Michelle of Sellersburg, In., Timothy Mc Rae and his wife Sheri of Huntsville, Al., Melanie Coon and her husband Pete of Marietta, Ga., and Step Sons Mike Conner of Monroe, Ga. and Steve Connor and his wife Leigh-Anne of Monroe, Ga. Mac had Twenty-one Grandchildren, and eleven Great Grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife and best friend Diane (Hamby) Mc Rae., and brothers Eugene Mc Rae of Sellersburg, In., John Henry Mc Rae of Sellersburg, In. and sister Audrey Gambrall of Louisville, Ky. His deceased brothers are Howard, Norman and Vaughn Mc Rae, and a sister Hellen Mc Rae., and his many loving Nieces, Nephews, and many friends.

Mac had a fulfilling military career, retiring as a Master Sargent in the United States Air Force. The medals of honor he received were; Air Force (AF) Outstanding Unit Award, which he received three times, AF Good Conduct, which he received six times, National Defense Service, Non-Article Five Nato Balkans, which he received two times, AF Longevity Service Award, which he received four times, United Nations Service Award, Small Arms Expert Marksman Ribbon and the Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation.
In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, basketball, baseball, woodworking and especially cooking. He had such a wonderful sense of humor and always shared a laugh. He did not mind sharing the Gospel and gave witness to many.
