Obituary and funeral arrangements: Fredrick Porter Wiley, 92, of Social Circle

Fredrick Porter Wiley, age 92, of Social Circle, died on March 17, 2017.

He was born in Walton County, GA on July 6, 1924 to the late Claude Thomas Wiley and Margaret Porter Wiley. He was preceded in death by his wife, the late Mamie Bell Wiley; son, the late Phillip Wiley; sister, the late Dorothy Parker. He is survived by his daughters Elise Hinkle of Social Circle and Amy Poole of Social Circle; and his sister, Elizabeth Wiley of Social Circle. He had 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He served in the United States Army during World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart and the French Legion of Honor medals.

A visitation will be held on Friday, March 24, 2017 between the hours of 6:00 and 8:00pm at Meadows Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 2:00pm in the sanctuary of the Social Circle United Methodist Church.
