Obituary and funeral arrangements: Mackey Alford Walston, 73, of Monroe

Mackey Alford Walston, age 73, of Monroe, died on April 9, 2017.

He was born on September 18, 1943 to the late Willie Hope “Pate” Walston and the late Neva Alford Walston. Mackey was preceded in death by his three loving sons; the late Jason Hassett, the late Tyler Hassett, and the late Mackey Alford Walston, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Robin Walston; daughter, Melanie Lambert of Carrollton, GA; grandchildren, Ashley, Rylin, and Jayce Hassett; great-grandchild, Maximus Robins, and to all of those he adopted and loved, you know who you are. Mackey started riding in police cars when he was only 8 years old, and he ended up serving 28 years as a police officer. He worked for 5 years in Carroll County and for 23 years in Walton County, including 13 years as Investigator.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 14, 2017 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home. Interment follows at Tyus Baptist Church Cemetery in Carrollton, GA
