Obituary and funeral service: Dean Hale Impeciato, 91, of Walton County

On Tuesday, February 12, 2019, Mrs. Dean Hale Impeciato, loving wife, sister and aunt, passed away at the age of 91. Dean was born on January 10, 1928 in Walton County to E. Lee and Pearl Mitchell Hale. She received her education degree from the University of Georgia and returned home to begin her teaching career. While teaching in Gratis, Dean organized and coached the first girls’ basketball team, enlisting support from the community for uniforms and supplies. Dean went on to teach in Carroll County, DeKalb County, Germany, and Montgomery, Alabama. She ended her teaching career after 21 years of service. She married her best friend, Vic, in 1966 and moved to Atlanta, where they lived until Vic’s passing in 1996. Dean was a true southern lady, who exemplified her sweet caring spirit to everyone she met. She was loved by all who were lucky enough to cross her path.
Dean was preceded in death by her husband, Vic Impeciato, parents, Lee and Pearl Hale, and brothers, Euphratus Hale and Bob Hale. She is survived by her sister Joann Hale Toney of (Winder), brother and sister-in-law Charles and Jean Hale (McDonough), brother and sister-in-law Gerald and Pat Hale (Monroe), and sisters-in-law Betty Hale and Florence Knight (Monroe), along with a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 13th from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Tim Stewart Funeral Home, 209 South Hammond Drive, Monroe, Ga. 30655. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, February 14th at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home in Monroe with interment at Arlington Cemetery in Atlanta.
