Obituary and funeral service: Dorothy C. Parrish, 88, of Monroe

Dorothy C. Parrish, age 88 of Monroe, passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2019. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, May 22, 2019, in the Monroe Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home. Rev. Marion Prather will officiate. Interment will take place at 2:30 PM at Mt. Zion Baptist Church II Cemetery in Dahlonega.

Dorothy was a 1947 graduate of Russell High School and graduated from Georgia Baptist Nursing School with her Bachelor’s Degree. Dorothy was a member of North George Daylily Society for over 25 years and was a master gardener. Dorothy was also a member of Center Hill Baptist Church in Gratis. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Robert Parrish; son, Bobby Parrish; daughter, Mary Ann Parrish, both in 1966; grandson, Carter Hendrix in 2011; and all her siblings. Dorothy is survived by her Daughters & Sons-in-law: Amy & Greg Hendrix of Monroe; Brenda & Junior Christy of Dahlonega; Grandchildren: Amanda & Josh Richards, Savanna Hendrix & her Fiancé Matt Zenoble, Paul, Savannah, Tammy, Benny, Marie, & Blake Christy; Great-Grandchildren: Zackary & Logan Richards; many wonderful Nieces, Nephews, and Great Nieces & Nephews.
