Dorothy Irene Meadows Broach, of Monroe, died on November 7, 2019. She was born on May 4, 1925, to Nathan Burse Meadows and Lillie Rowe Meadows Malcom. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Watson Broach, brother, Rev. Nathan Felton Meadows, sisters, Stella Still and Ruth
She is survived by her sons, Tom (Harrison) and Elaine Broach of Athens, Johnny and Teresa Broach of Monroe, Jacky and Brenda Broach of Covington, James Broach and Belinda Robinson of Ballground; daughters, Shirley and James Meadows of Danielsville, Jean Stephens of Monroe, Lillie Mae and Jack Hamrick of Cape Coral, FL, Lisa Anglin of Monroe, Sherry and Phil Murrell of Bethlehem; 35 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
She was a member of Braswell C.H. Church where she was a Sunday school teacher for many years. She loved to work for the church and to travel to the Union Grove Campground in White County for camp meeting services. Â She retired from Oxford of Monroe. She loved to sew, her flower garden and to sit on her front porch to watch the cows and the hummingbirds.
Funeral services will be Sunday, November 10, 2019, at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home with Rev. Gloria Farmer officiating. Interment will follow at Hill Haven Memory Gardens.
