Obituary and funeral service: Helen Padgett ‘Johnson’ Tanner, 92, of Loganville

Helen Padgett (Johnson) Tanner, age 92, of Loganville, GA, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2026. A Funeral Service will be held at the Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home, Lawrenceville, GA, on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at 1:00 PM with Rev. Joey Grizzle and Rev. Wayne Durden officiating. The body will lie-in-state two hours prior to the service. Interment will follow at Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, George Lee Tanner, Jr.; and parents, Lula Roberta (Still) & Carl Perry Johnson. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Anita and Gary Watkins; sons and daughter-in-law, David Tanner, Tim and Kay Tanner; grandchildren, Matt and Heather Watkins, Melissa and Jarrod Yancey, Mary and Adam Preston, Martin Watkins, Trey and Annah Tanner, Kara and Andrew Beckett, Kristen Tanner, Michael Tanner, Alison Tanner; 21 great grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Janice and Sylvester Phillips; sister-in-law Jean Sexton.
