John C. Campbell, age 74, passed away January 15, 2021, at his home in Monroe, Georgia. He was born September 26, 1942, in Pensacola,
Florida. He completed his undergraduate degree at Florida State University, and received his Juris Doctorate at Mercer University.
John is survived by his wife of 48 years, Linda Pilcher Campbell; a son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Elizabeth Campbell of Atlanta, GA; a daughter and son-in law Melinda and Daniel Walker of Bogart, GA; and two grandchildren, Sophie Walker and Elle Walker of Bogart, GA;
His legal career included accomplishments such as serving as County
Attorney, Dade County, GA and School Board Attorney, Dade County, GA
and Magistrate Judge in Clayton County, GA.
John proudly served six years in the Marine Corp Reserve and served a lifetime as a proud American. He was a member of the General T.R.R. Cobb, Camp No. 97, Sons of Confederate Soldiers, Athens, Georgia.
John was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Winder where he served as an elder. He had also served as elder at the LaFayette Presbyterian Church in LaFayette, GA and Morrow Presbyterian Church in Morrow, GA.
A graveside service will be held Monday, January 18 at 2pm at Hill Haven Memory Gardens and Mausoleum 490 Edmonson Rd. Monroe, GA 30656 with Rev. Clark Ivey officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Winder P.O. Box 549 Winder, GA 30680.
