John D. Straut, age 88 of Monroe, GA, passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2020. A Graveside Service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, June 8, 2020, at Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Tucker. Rev. Mickey Oliver will officiate. Mr. Straut was a member of New Testament Baptist Church and served his country honorably in the United States Air Force. He retired from Lucent Technologies. John was preceded in death by his wife of 64 ½ years, Mary A. Straut in 2019; and sister & brother-in-law, Claudia & George Teck. He is survived by his daughters & sons-in-law, Debbie & Ken Ward of Oviedo, FL; Brenda & Joe Hoffman of Stockbridge, GA; Tina & Alan Walker of Apison, TN; Laura & Duane Garner of Monroe, GA; grandchildren, Wendy, Tracy & Ben, Eric, Becky & Blake, Brittney, Tiffany, Lacye, & Avery; great-grandchildren, Nora, Joshua, Camden, Hutson, Brooks, Luke, & Brett; brother & sister-in-law, Nelson & Doris Straut of Daytona, FL; sister & brother-in-law, Yvonne & Charles Canty of Gainesville, GA.
