June D. Handte, age 89 of Monroe, passed away on Sunday, May, 12, 2019. Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM on Friday, May 17, 2019, at the Monroe Church of Christ, 813 Broad Street, Monroe, GA 30656. Minister Bobby Wood will officiate. Entombment will be held at 2:30 PM at Sunrise Memorial Gardens, 364 E. Church St. Jasper, Ga 30143. June graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelors in Education and worked for Garden Hills Elementary and Brumby Elementary. She was a homemaker, Girl Scout Leader, and owned her own antique business. June was also owner and proprietor of the Elderberry Inn in Ellijay, GA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chas Handte, in 1997, her parents, Frank & “Munny” Williams Davis, and her sister, Dorothy “Dot” Davis Cline. June is survived by her Daughter: Karen Atkinson of Monroe; Son & Daughter-in-law: Allen & Wendy Henry of Loganville; Grandsons: Davis Henry and Sgt. Rick Henry, both of Marietta; Nieces and Nephews: Larry & Linda Cline of Knoxville, TN; Kim & Claudia Cline of Peachtree City, GA; and Dana & Jon McCarver of Pelham, AL.
