Montine Mitchell Clark, 91, passed away on February 9, 2021. She was born on September 26, 1929, in Stone Mountain, GA, to the late Henry Grady Mitchell and the late Hattie Virginia Juhan Mitchell. Montine was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis B. Clark, Jr.; daughter, Donna Elrod; brothers, Wesley Mitchell, Thomas Mitchell, Thurmon Mitchell; sisters, Peggy Hicks, Margaret Hardy, Odell Leach, Erma Lee Huff, Emma Wigley, Annie Ruth Glaze.
Surviving members of Mrs. Clark’s family are daughter and son-in-law, Jenni and Ron Yeater; grandchildren, Shane and Jan Benefield, Brantley Yeater, Eli Yeater.
Ms. Clark grew up around the Stone Mountain area. Many knew her by the nickname, Liza. She was always a quiet person and was easy to get along with. She loved to visit her family and friends with her husband, Curtis.
Montine worked at the Walton Monroe Mills as a cloth inspector. Her favorite place to go on vacation was Panama City Beach. In her golden years, she liked to watch Wheel of Fortune, do word search puzzles, and eat pizza. She held a special place in her heart for her grandkids, who call her Memaw.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 14, 2021, at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home with the Rev. Dole Wallace officiating. Interment will follow to Hill Haven Memory Gardens.
