Ray Powell, age 88 of Loganville, GA, passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2026. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, July 18, 2026 in the Loganville Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Hammond and Rev. Terry Briscoe officiating. Interment will follow at Barrow Memorial Gardens, 793 Atlanta Highway SE, Winder. The family will receive friends 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM prior to the service.
Ray worked as a Sewing Machine Mechanic at Superior Garment in Winder and Walton Clothes in Loganville prior to retiring. He loved to hunt and fish.
Ray was preceded in death by his daughter, Rhonda Lou Horner; grandson, Jeremy Shannon; son-in-law, Mitch Shannon; parents, Joseph and Annie Lee (Harbin) Powell. He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Nettie (Bolman) Powell of Loganville; daughter and son-in-law, Connie (Danny) Martin of Loganville; daughter, Glenda Shannon of Loganville; brother, Wayne Powell of Auburn; sisters, Sarah Harper of Harbins and Dorothy Crowe of Dacula; grandchildren, Christina Goddard, Brandy Hester, Kimberly Scarborough, Clyne Martin, Corey Martin and Miranda Garner; several great grandchildren; numerous family and friends.
