Verma Jordan Ellington, age 99, of Monroe, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2026. She was born in Washington County, Georgia, on March 9, 1927, to the late Embel Trotter and the late Iverson Jordan.
Verma was preceded in death by her loving husband, Gordon Elmo Ellington, as well as her sisters, Agnes Holland and Lillian Miller.
She leaves behind her daughter, Rita Dickinson (David); granddaughters, Alexis Lalaian (Tim), Mariah Dickinson, Sarah Johnson (Zac); great grandchildren, David Lalaian, Rose Dickinson, Emily Lalaian, Zoey Johnson, Caleb Johnson, Sofia Bailey; brother, Hayward Jordan (Ellen); several beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Verma retired from Southern Bell with 30 years service. In 1985 she began keeping books at her son-in-law’s law office. She retired at the age 88 with 30 years service from Dickinson & Willis, LLC Law Firm.
A visitation will be held from 2:00pm to 4:00pm, on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at Meadows Funeral Home. A memorial service will take place, at 4:00pm, in the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home.
