Obituary and funeral services: Carol Jane Snell Camp, 80, of Monroe

Carol Jane Snell Camp, age 80, of Monroe, formerly of Snellville, died peacefully on March 13th, 2018. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren at the “Barn”. Carol was a lifelong member of Snellville United Methodist Church. Mimi was a great cook and her family loved her biscuits and chocolate oatmeal cookies. She was a lifelong partner of E. R. Snell Contractor, Inc. where she worked until her retirement in 1995.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, James; her parents, Edwin and Mable Snell; her sister, Helen Todd; her brothers, Earle Snell and Richard Snell. She is survived by daughter, Connie LaPlume and her husband Russ of Good Hope; son, Jimmy Camp and his wife Andrea of Monroe; daughter, Cathy Camp of Good Hope; Nine Grandchildren: Jim and Melinda Hollandsworth, Jake and Katie Camp, Marcus Camp, Ryan and Holly Hollandsworth, Heath and Ashley Hollandsworth, Hunter Hollandsworth, Jon Thomas and Reba Kate Byrd, Richard and Caroline Thomas and Jacob and Caitlin Briscoe; Eleven Great-Grandchildren: Jacob, Kate, Hadley, Madison, Reese, Will, Harper, Lucy, Herschel, Janie, and Ralph; Brothers, Ferle Snell and wife Neita Faye, and Jack Snell; sisters-in-law, Martha Snell and Patty Jean Camp; and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be held at Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel on Wednesday, March 14th from 6-8 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at Snellville United Methodist Church on Thursday, March 15th at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Snellville Historical Cemetery.
