Cynthia Daphine Dixon was born on July 20, 1952. Surrounded by people she loved, Daphine peacefully passed away on August 8, 2017.
During her sixty-five years of life, Daphine had a strong impact on all she encountered. She was known for her positive outlook, her relentless optimism, and her selfless devotion to her friends and family. Daphine spent her childhood in Tifton, Georgia. In her twenties, she moved to the western United States with her daughter, Lisa. During this time, she lived in Farmington, New Mexico, and Denver, Colorado. Wanting to be closer to family, Daphine returned to Tifton in her early thirties. Shortly after returning home, Daphine met her future husband, Danny. After the birth of their son, Buck, the family moved to Snellville, Georgia. Eventually, Danny and Daphine settled in Monroe, Georgia, where they have lived for more than a decade.
Daphine served the Gwinnett County Public Schools for over twenty years. Additionally, she and her husband Danny built a successful business, Dixon Home Builders. Her true passion in life, though, was spending time with her loved ones. Daphine is preceded in death by her father, Clyde Hale, her mother, Irene Hale, and her brother York Hale. She is survived by her husband, Danny; her siblings Shelia (George), Kim, and Greg; her children Lisa (Wayman), Tangel (Matt), Danny, and Buck (Leah); her grandchildren Dalton (Morgan), Dakota, Kyle, Marie, and Aubrey; and her great-grandchildren Payton and Jace. A memorial service to celebrate Daphine’s life will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2017, at 11 AM at Tim Stewart Funeral Home, 670 Tom Brewer Rd, Loganville, GA 30052. Pastor Troy Shaw will officiate. A Visitation will be held before the service from 10-11 AM at the same location. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Georgia Ovarian Cancer Alliance in Daphine’s honor.
