Obituary and funeral services: Danny W. Dixon, 66, of Monroe

Danny Wayne Dixon was born in Griffin, Georgia on October 17, 1952. Surrounded by loved ones, he passed away on April 17, 2019.

Danny graduated from South Gwinnett High School in 1972. During his high school days, he was known as “Duke.” After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served for eight years. Following his military service, Danny supervised bridge building projects for Sunbelt Structures for nearly two decades. He then operated a successful home building business with his loving wife, Daphine, for many years.

Danny and Daphine were married for nearly thirty years until she passed away in August 2017. He leaves behind many loved ones and will be remembered as a kind, loving, and supportive father, son, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He was fiercely loyal to those he cared about, and he will truly be missed by all. Danny is preceded in death by his wife, Daphine, and his sister, Wanda. He is survived by his children, Tangel, Buck (Leah), Danny, and Lisa (Wayman); his grandchildren, William, Marie, Kyle, Dakota, and Dalton (Morgan); his great grandchildren, Payton, Chloe, Jace, and Oliver; his mother, Virginia; and his siblings, Deborah, Michael, and Joey.

A Memorial Service celebrating Danny’s life will be held on Saturday, April 20 at 3 PM, at Tim Stewart Funeral Home, 670 Tom Brewer Road, Loganville, GA 30052.

A visitation will be held before the service from 2 PM until 3 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in Danny’s honor.
