Obituary and funeral services: Gladys Floy Phillips Walls, 95, of Monroe

Gladys Floy Phillips Walls, age 95, of Monroe, died on January 7, 2017. She was born in Walton County on December 22, 1921 to the late Minnie Shoemake Phillips and the late Emory Clarence Phillips. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Ernest Hubert Walls, Sr. She is survived by her daughters, Lola Isbell of Athens, Becky Miner of Monroe; Jan Dover of Monroe; sons, Bo Walls of Cleveland, Bobby Jack Walls of Monroe; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

A Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at 1:30 pm in the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home with Rev. Allen Whitley officiating. Interment follows at Bold Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the Longleaf Hospice Foundation at 1132 Floyd St. Covington, GA 30014, or to St. Mary’s Hospice House at St. Mary’s Foundation (memo: Hospice House) 1230 Baxter St. Athens, GA 30306.
