Obituary and funeral services: H. Preston Head, 95, of Monroe

H. Preston Head, age 95 of Monroe, passed away on November 11, 2018. Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 in the Monroe Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home with Rev. Don Cooper officiating. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery. Preston was a Veteran of the United States Army where he served during WWII and he was retired from the Monroe Mill where he was a textile worker. He was the oldest member of St. Stephen United Methodist Church in Monroe. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie & Millie Leamon Harrison Head; his wife, Orene Perkins Head in 2013 and he is survived by his son & daughter-in-law, David & Patricia Head of Monroe; daughter, Millie Head Shelnutt of Monroe; grandchildren, Daniel Head, Haley Shelnutt Johns; great-grandchildren, Kayleigh Head, Brittlynn Head, Skye Nash, Marley Head, Noah Johns, and Madison Johns and numerous family and friends. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St, Stephen UMC Building Fund.
