
Mr. Pearson was a member of New Testament Baptist Church and was a retired Dekalb County Police Officer where he served for over 30 years. Harvey was involved with Alford Memorial Radio Club and taught Morse code for several years. He led the Demolays and was a past master of the Panthersville Masonic Lodge and was a member of the Fergus Lodge. Harvey was an avid golfer until the onset of heart problems. He was preceded in death by his son, James Olin (Jim) Pearson in 1975. He is survived by his wife of 54 years: Shirley W. Pearson; Daughters: Natalie Hauck of Flowery Branch, and Patti & Joe Murdoch of Loganville; Sister: Barbara Rankin of Griffin; Grandchildren: Leslie Hampton, Erin Makler, Caitlin Pittman, Rachel & Emily Murdoch; Great-Grandchildren: Claire & Lucas Hampton and John Edward Bird.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
