Obituary and funeral services: James A. Wheeler, Sr., 84, of Loganville

James A. Wheeler, Sr, age 84 of Loganville, GA, passed away on May 6, 2017.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 PM on Tuesday May 9, 2017 at Corinth Christian Church in Loganville. Minister Don Hardison will officiate. Interment will follow at Corinth Memorial Gardens.
James grew up in GA Baptist Children’s Home. He was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict with 2 years in active service and 6 years in reserves where he received the National Defense Service Medal. He was a member of 40 & 8 American Legion Post 233, a member of Corinth Christian Church and was an avid hunter and fisherman. James retired from GM Doraville after 40 years where he was an Electrical Repairman and was a member of UAW Local 10. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Alfred & Bessie Mae Denney Wheeler, and his wife, Vivian C. Wheeler, in 2012. James is survived by his Children: James A. & Lori Wheeler, Jr. of Loganville; Venise & Dorsey Lee of Loganville; Marshall & Cheryl Wheeler of Snellville; Grandchildren: Jeremy Wheeler, Joseph Wheeler, Melissa & Andrew Smith, Michelle Lee, Lindsey Wheeler; Great-Granddaughter: Scarlett Lee Harrison. Flowers are accepted or memorials to Corinth Christian Church 4 Generations Building Fund, 1635 Hwy 81 South, Loganville, GA 30052. The family will receive friends on Monday May 8, 2017 from 2 – 4 PM and 6 – 8 PM at the Tim Stewart Funeral Home, 670 Tom Brewer Rd, Loganville, GA 30052. 770-466-1544.
