Obituary and funeral services: James Luther Green, 79, of Monroe

James Luther Green, age 79, of Monroe passed away on Monday, January 22, 2018. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 25, 2018 in the Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home in Loganville. Pastor Delmar Davenport will officiate. Interment will follow at Walnut Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. He was a kind, gentle and loving soul and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. James was preceded in death by his first wife, Lucy; parents: Brade & Celia Green; brothers: Johnny & Jimmy Green; and sister: Louise Marro. James was a member of Carpenter’s Union Number 225, Snellville United Methodist Church and Golden Fleece Lodge of Covington. James is survived by his wife: Ann; his two daughters: Pat Thompson (Vince), and Renea Strickland (Mike); stepson: Todd Murrell (Lynn) and stepdaughter: Michele Wright (Chad); five grandchildren: Steven Thompson (Brittany), Brandon Thompson (Ashley), Austin Thompson, Shelby and Taylor Strickland; step grandchildren: T.J. Murrell, Christine Camp (Steven), Chandler, Erin, Evan and Jackson Wright; four great grandchildren: Aniston, Addilyn, Harper and Banks Thompson.
