Obituary and funeral services: Jimmy Lewis Lemonds, 87, of Social Circle

Jimmy Lewis Lemonds of Social Circle, GA, passed away on December 22, 2018, at the age of 87. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Dewey and Mary Lou Lemonds, his sister, Thelma Davis, and his brother, Bobby Lemonds.

Survivors are his wife of 61 years, Sharon Peters Lemonds; sister-in-law, Linda Lemonds, and several nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and nephews.

Jimmy served four years in the U.S. Air Force and four years in the reserves. He worked for the State of Georgia Department of Transportation for 30 years. His retirement years were spent living in Social Circle where he and Sharon were close to family members and enjoyed being active members of their church.

Jimmy enjoyed rabbit hunting with friends and family. He spent many years raising and training Beagle pups for hunting. He liked to fish and loved a good catfish fry.

He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

A funeral service was held on December 27, 218 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Box and Rev. John King officiating. Interment was held at the Social Circle City Cemetery. Meadows Funeral Home, Inc. in Monroe, GA was in charge of arrangements
