Obituary and funeral services: Joseph H. ‘Joe’ Paul, II, 52, of Loganville

Joseph H. “Joe” Paul, II, age 52, of Loganville, Georgia, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 17, 2017, after suffering a heart attack on September 12th. Joe was a beloved Assistant Principal at Shiloh High School. He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Amanda Smith Paul; four sons, Joseph Paul & Mallory Paul and their daughter, Amelia Margaret Paul, Jonathan Paul, Tate Paul, and Carter Paul all of Grayson, GA; two sisters, Betsy Cann, Lee & Chad Yohn all of Enterprise, AL; brother, Dr. Rob & Melanie Paul of Louisville, MS; mother-in-law & father-in-law, Anita and Michael Martin of Loganville, GA; father-in-law & mother-in-law, Carter and Cookie Smith of Snellville, GA; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of many friends. Joe was predeceased by his beloved parents, Robert Milton Paul and Bobbie Brunson Paul; and beloved nephew, Sgt. Adam Leigh Cann, USMC.

Joe was born in Enterprise, Alabama on April 27, 1965. He was a 1983 graduate of Enterprise High School where he marched in the band. He graduated from Troy University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice, a 1992 graduate of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master of Arts in Christian Education, and obtained his Education Specialist in Curriculum & Instruction from Liberty University. He started his career in education working with G.I.V.E. Center East High School, and had served the past three years as Assistant Principal at Shiloh High School in Snellville, GA. Joe’s greatest joys in life were being a Youth Pastor and Teacher so he could impact the lives of young people in a positive way. He also loved the HGTV channel and could make anything from pallet wood, such as, desks, bars, coolers and just anything “wood.” He grew up as a passionate fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide, but also supported the Georgia Bulldogs because of his sons. Joe will be deeply missed by his adoring family, students he impacted over the years, and his many friends and colleagues in the teaching profession.

A Memorial Service Celebrating and Honoring the Life of Joe Paul will be held Friday, September 22, 2017, at 4:00 P.M. at Grace New Hope, 1766 New Hope Rd., Lawrenceville, GA 30045 with Dr. Rob Paul, Joe’s brother, and Pastor Randy Rainwater officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and again after the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Joe Paul Memorial Scholarship Fund at Condolences may be sent or viewed at Tom M.
