Obituary and funeral services: Lester “Lex” Godwin, Jr., 54, of Snellville

Lester “Lex” Godwin, Jr., age 54 of Snellville, passed away on Friday, July 26, 2019. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, July 29, 2019 in the Loganville Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home. Greg Godwin and Pastor Paul Pittard will officiate. Interment will follow at Hill Haven Memory Gardens. Lex was a 1983 graduate of Brookwood High School and the owner/operator of Ace Granite in Loganville. He loved the Georgia Bulldogs, Atlanta Falcons, golf and was a member of Lane Creek Country Club in Watkinsville. Lex was a loving husband, father, brother, son, uncle, nephew and friend. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Rhonda Lynn Godwin of Snellville; daughters, Brittany Godwin & Brooklyn Godwin, both of Snellville; parents, Lester & Jeanne (Tallent) Godwin of Lawrenceville; sisters & brothers-in-law, Bambi & Stan Welbron of Lilburn, Katrina & Greg Orr of Monroe, Shannon & Jason Sinclair of Monroe; sisters-in-law & brother-in-law, Melissa Ray, Jimmy & Chrissy Williams; nephews, Charlie Welbron, Shane Patterson, Wesley Welbron, Chase & Kaitlynne Sinclair; nieces, Kaley & Mark Malone, Ashley Hipps, Kasey Ray, Kaleigh Ray, Addison Ray; great-nephews, Luke & Jack Malone; and his 1st and close friend, Bruce Hedley.
