MaryLynne Rukert Solomon, aged 78, went to be with our Lord on June 18th, 2018, in Monroe, Ga.
Memorial Celebration will be July 2, 2018, at Holy Cross Anglican Cathedral, 3836 Oak Grove Rd, Loganville, Ga. 30052, with the Most Reverend Dr. Foley Beach, Abp, officiating. Service at 11:00 am, reception to follow at the Strickland Center, onsite.
MaryLynne Rukert Solomon was born to Norman George Rukert and Doris Alma Rukert, nee Holmes, on August 21, 1939, in Baltimore, Maryland. She graduated from Sullins College in Virginia, received her Bachelor of Science from Georgia State College, and her Masters, Summa Cum Laude, from the University of Georgia, Athens.
MaryLynne married Ronald Trent Solomon of Kingsport, Tn on November 28, 1959, in Catonsville, Maryland. They lived in Kingsport, Tn, soon after moved to Georgia, and eventually settled in Monroe. She served on the Boards of Rukert Terminals and Beacon Stevedoring in Baltimore, Maryland. MaryLynne also served on the Board of F.I.S.H., and was a volunteer there as well. She was a counselor for many years at Family Services in Gainesville, Ga. She served as Senior Warden of the Vestry at St. Albans Episcopal Church, Monroe, Ga., and also was instrumental in creating, and serving, as a St. Albans Stephens Minister.
She was a member of Holy Cross Anglican Cathedral in Loganville, Ga.
MaryLynne was an active member of the Monroe Ladies Golf Association, at the Monroe Country Club, Monroe, Ga. She was a part time resident of Bears Paw Country Club in Naples, Fl., and a member there of both the Golf Club, and the Duplicate Bridge Club.
MaryLynnes greatest love was the time that she spent with her husband, family, and friends. She enjoyed the many celebrations of life events, holiday gatherings, and vacations at the beach. She enjoyed happy years playing golf with family and friends, and loved to win a nickel on a putt. MaryLynne and her brother Norman George Rukert, Jr. of Baltimore, Maryland had a special close relationship all of their lives. And together with their spouses, Ron Solomon, and Jean Rukert, they had adventures, trips, and golf matches, which she really loved.
MaryLynne is preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by: her husband of 58 years, Ronald Trent Solomon: Her son Jeffrey Lyn Solomon and his wife Joyceann George Solomon; her daughter Jennifer Lee Solomon; Her brother Norman George Rukert, Jr., and his wife Jean Hale Rukert; Grandchildren: Cory Solomon, Cody Solomon and his wife Laura Solomon, Cady Solomon, Alex Reese, and Kyle Reese; Nieces Samantha Rukert and Brenda Fawcett, nephew Shaun and Beth Rukert, and all of their children; her cousins Dottie, Bud, and Barbara, and all of their children.
