Obituary and funeral services: Matthew Clark Burdette, 37, of Social Circle

Matthew Clark Burdette, 37, passed away Saturday, November 24, 2018, in Campbell Ohio after a long courageous battle with colon cancer.

Matt was born in Monroe GA and grew up in Social Circle. Matt attended school in Social Circle from kindergarten until his graduation from Social Circle High School in 1999. He is survived by his wife, Virginia, and step-children Daniel (Jordan), Kalista, and Cole; Father, Steve and Esther Burdette; Mother, Cathy and Gary McLean; Brother; Christopher Burdette and son Milo; Step-Brothers, Brian Stephens and Christopher Gerard, JJ McLean, and Paul McLean; Grandmother Mary Clary of Surfside Beach, SC. Matt is also survived by many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and friends. Matt had a variety of interest and hobbies from football to music to movies. He loved his Falcons and Yellow Jackets. His musical taste was eclectic, but his favorite artist was Eric Church. The amount of times he watched his favorite movie Boondocks Saints is unknown, but the number is thought to contain at least 1 comma. Matt once said that his dream was to entertain people and to make them laugh, his quick wit and unique brand of humor will never be forgotten. He once wrote, “I try to find the humor in all the bad things in life…if we can learn to laugh at it, we can learn to live with it”.
